Biblical Home Education in South Africa

BELA HEARINGS GAUTENG - INFORMATION

1. Any citizen of the country may attend the public hearings. You don’t need to be living in Gauteng to attend the Gauteng hearings. You may attend any hearing.

2. You will have to present some form of identification document at the door. Your picture may also be taken. This is normal procedure when parliamentary proceedings take place. The photos are usually deleted soon after.

3. You will not be allowed to enter carrying a firearm or another weapon.

4. Although children were allowed to enter without identification at some of the hearings, it is probably safest to bring their birth certificates with, if possible.

5. This is a wonderful educational opportunity for your family. Learners who presented were specifically thanked. Bring your children with! (If they won’t cause disruptions).

6. Please wear a T-shirt in one of the following colours: bright blue, green, yellow, orange, or red. We asked for blue shirts but decided to branch out in order not to look like we are from a specific political party. (See the bottom link for an example of the colours. If you own one of these “Team Homeschool” shirts, please wear them!)

7. If you have space in your car, or are looking for a lift, please post a message on the WhatsApp group. There are also a couple of convoys going, so if you would like to drive with others, get in touch. You can also send a message to 069 865 0455, and we will try to put you in touch with someone in your area.
