Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology weeks (EBIT Weeks) are presented biannually

EBIT Weeks are designed to help students faced with the responsiblities of making career choices clueless. We give the students a better idea of what the engineering disciplines and school of information technology entail.

2017 Weeks are scheduled for

9 to 12 April and 2 to 5 July

Congratulations to Prof Trudi Joubert from the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering on her inaugural address with the title "Mixed-mode microelectronics." The inaugural address presented the microelectronics research that leverages process improvements into cost effective and innovative integrated circuits, contributing to scholarship to the fields of novel electronic components and the mixed-mode integration of analogue and digital functions.

Congratulations to Prof Charles Siyasiya of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering University of Pretoria who presented an inaugural address about advances in steel design and processing to curb greenhouse emissions. It was a very interesting lecture giving insight to where we are going in terms of transitioning from traditional steel to green steel production.
