Ten Unknown Facts About
1. Founding and History: Lamborghini was founded in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini, originally a manufacturer of tractors. After a dispute with Enzo Ferrari over the quality of Ferrari’s road cars, Lamborghini decided to create his own high-performance vehicles, leading to the birth of the legendary brand.
2. The Bull Logo: The Lamborghini logo features a charging bull, a nod to Ferruccio Lamborghini’s zodiac sign, Ta**us. The bull has become a symbol of the brand’s aggressive, powerful, and bold character, traits that are reflected in the design and performance of their cars.
3. The Miura Revolution: The Lamborghini Miura, introduced in 1966, is often considered the world’s first supercar. With its mid-engine layout and stunning design, the Miura set new standards in performance and aesthetics, influencing the design of supercars for decades to come.
4. Aviation-Inspired Design: Many Lamborghini designs are inspired by fighter jets. The angular lines, sharp edges, and even the interiors of models like the Aventador and Huracán draw heavily from military aviation, giving the cars a futuristic and aggressive look.
5. Limited Production: Lamborghini is known for its exclusive, limited production runs. Models like the Reventón, Veneno, and Centenario were produced in extremely limited numbers, making them highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.
6. Carbon Fiber Pioneers: Lamborghini has been a leader in the use of carbon fiber in automotive construction. The company’s Advanced Composites Research Center (ACRC) has developed cutting-edge carbon fiber technologies, which are used extensively in their supercars to reduce weight and enhance performance.
7. All-Wheel Drive Innovation: Lamborghini was one of the first supercar manufacturers to adopt all-wheel drive in their vehicles. The Lamborghini Diablo VT, introduced in 1993, was the first model to feature this technology, significantly improving the car’s handling and traction.
8. Sant’Agata Bolognese: Lamborghini’s headquarters and primary manufacturing facility are located in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy. Every Lamborghini is built by hand at this factory, where skilled artisans and engineers work meticulously to create each vehicle.
9. Unique Naming Tradition: Most Lamborghini models are named after famous fighting bulls or bullfighting terms. For example, the Lamborghini Murciélago was named after a legendary bull that survived 28 sword strokes in a fight in 1879, while the Aventador and Huracán also have bullfighting connections.
10. Pop Culture Impact: Lamborghini cars have become icons in pop culture, often associated with extreme wealth, speed, and luxury. From being featured in music videos and movies to being owned by celebrities, Lamborghinis are a symbol of status and aspiration, with models like the Countach and Diablo becoming particularly iconic over the decades.

We were so saddened to hear this morning of the passing of Dana Coetzee. We first met Dana when he launched the KPMG running club, and it became a long-standing joke with him that he wanted to be on our cover, the deal was that he would need to run a sub 7:30 Comrades, and his wish would be granted.
Dana brought joy and laughter to all he encountered, with a contagious passion for running. He gave his life to the sport, spending countless weekends at races, supporting the club with all he had. In recent years Dana was quieter as he was diagnosed with cancer, but even then he was determined to keep going, to get better, and be where he loved being, in the heart of the running community.
Despite not running a sub 7h30, we featured Dana in our magazine in our then, 'Living Legends' feature. Dana completed 20 Comrades Marathons, 15 Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathons and 25 RACTough One 32s, amongst many other races, he was a true running Legend.
RIP Dana, you will be missed

Australian runner Jessica Hull 🇦🇺praises Faith Kipyegon 🇰🇪 for elevating the women's 1500m discipline 👇🏾
Her words 👇🏾
"For 10 years I’ve watched Faith Kipyegon’s impact on the women’s 1500m globally. On Sunday, I got to have the best seat in the stadium to watch her break her own world record. Faith has completely elevated our event and challenged us all to level up alongside her dominance!
I’m calling it “The Faith Kipyegon effect,” something I’m sure all of the women I compete with will recognize and understand first hand!," she stated.
