Today, our primary school dove into the magical world of stories as they commemorated Book Week! Every learner was embracing the joy of reading by enjoying their favorite book in class. What a wonderful way to celebrate imagination, knowledge, and the love of literature!

Exciting news from the Curro Hazeldean Sport and Culture Festival!
Our high school debate team participated in 2 rounds on Saturday at the festival. While they took an unfortunate loss in the first round, they came back strong to win the second round!
Considering the Debate Club just started last month and this was their very first competition, their achievement is truly remarkable. Although they didn’t take home the overall title, their hard work and dedication made us immensely proud!

And it's double GOLD! 🎉 Congratulations to our World Athletics U20 100m and 200m champion, Bayanda Walaza! 🎉

Our Grade 1s were planting their own fruits and vegetables today. It is important to teach our learners about planting seeds as it provides hands-on learning in science and boosts mental health while giving children a sense of accomplishment.

On Friday, our Debate Team attended their inaugural workshop at Eskia Mphahlele Library, where learners engaged in public speaking activities as well as debating. The event was a resounding success. We extend our gratitude to the American Embassy and PRIMM institution for providing this valuable educational opportunity!

As our Matrics prepared to take their prelim exam this morning, they were pleasantly surprised by a heartfelt gesture from our Foundation Phase, who presented them with Good Luck cards. We wanted to remind them that their determination has brought them this far, and we have no doubt they’re going to shine during these exams.

Success of the Amazing Race!
This past Saturday, we welcomed Grade 7 learners from Curro Academy Pretoria, Curro Academy Mamelodi, and Curro Academy The Blyde for a fantastic Grade 7 Fun Day.
The learners thoroughly enjoyed the Amazing Race, soapbox kart races, and the various obstacles we had prepared for them. The day was not just about highlighting our high school; it also allowed the learners to develop teamwork and critical thinking skills.
We look forward to welcoming these learners to our High School next year!

Sports Highlights ♟🥋
Our U/17 A chess team received an invitation to compete in the D4 finals after finishing second in group C. Despite being two players down at the District finals, Curro Academy Pretoria secured 2 match victories, achieved 2 draws, and suffered just one loss. Ultimately, the team placed third in the D4 District. Well done to:

We are also proud of the sibling duo, Kaboentle and Khutso Nkwana, who participated in the Kyokushin-kan National Tournament 2024 this past Saturday in Vosloorus. Big brother Kabo secured 1st place, while Khutso earned an impressive 2nd place in her division.

Congratulations to Bayanda Walaza and Team South Africa men's 4x100m relay team for their incredible performance in the finals! They have brought home a Silver medal! 🥈
