The good looking Peugeot Landtrek with the same design flair that has made the French brand’s passenger cars so appealing.
Everybody is looking for that perfect barn find, a vehicle that’s been sitting for years under a pile of rubble just waiting for the right caretaker to come along and bring it back to life. This is without a doubt what club member Cobus van den Berg achieved. Well done for bringing this hard to find back to life.

Lions on the Line …
Fifty years ago, in June 1973, construction started on one of most ambitious projects in South Africa, the Sishen-Saldanha railway. Two French companies won the contract to construct the 861 km long line and, in true French fashion, they acquired French bakkies (but locally assembled) to do the Lion’s share of light work on the line …
So, to celebrate this half-century milestone, we followed a section of the heavy-haul railway line (in atrocious weather conditions, one must add), driving the adjacent service road with a classic 50-year-old petrol-driven Peugeot 404 bakkie, similar to the pickups used to build the line, accompanied by the latest, modern Landtrek double cab bakkie in the Lion litter.

It wasn’t a win; it wasn’t a top five finish, but you know what?… both Peugeot 9X8s survived for 24 hours.
The team did a fantastic job and they have proven that they can compete with the top teams in the world.
Félicitations Peugeot

Heritage Day was created in 1995, and its aim is to recognise and celebrate the unique aspects of the country and its people. Heritage Day, also called Braai Day (Barbeque Day) in recent years, is the perfect occasion to invite friends for a braai and share a meal and happiness.
