Sue Baker – Ocean Delight Oysters – Where it all started.
When the Baker family left Gauteng in the early 90's and settled in Stellenbosch, Sue Baker was gifted some fresh Walvis Bay oysters from a friend as a parting gift, and she instantly fell in love. “The taste of Walvis Bay Oysters are completely different to the Saldanha, East Coast and Knysna Oysters, they are flavorful and meatier with a lovely salinity.”
Sue started importing Walvis Bay oysters from Namibia on a weekly basis, using a coolerbox and the family car, she delivered oysters to a handful of customers.
At that stage, oysters were not sold extensively to restauranteurs in South Africa, Sue saw this gap and the rest is history.

Our freshwater trout is farmed locally in pristine waters, resulting in a delicious high quality fish.
Handcrafted from 50% Goat milk & 50% Jersey Milk, this mould-ripened Cream Cheese is encased in ash, streaked with a few layers of ash throughout. Creamy – with a subtle mushroom flavour. A delicate and Humble little cheese that deserves a spot on any cheese platter.
Our traditional Italian freshly frozen ravioli comes in a variety of flavours, from artichoke and ricotta to bobotie and is made to order.
Burrata is known for its creamy interior. It is made by forming a pouch of mozzarella cheese and filling it with a mixture of cream and curd, known as straciatella. This gives it a luscious, soft, and creamy center that oozes when cut. Our burrata is made fresh to order and produced with the highest quality ingredients.
Situated on the banks of the Breede River in the Little Karoo, Rio Largo Olive Estate produces some of South Africa's finest olive oil. Their olive oil is produced from Italian cultivars such as Frantoio, Leccino and Coratina. The use of these different cultivars result in a smooth and mild olive oil with fruity peppery notes.

Sharing the same love for fine foods (particularly quality oysters) are the two Managing Directors, Mother and son, Sue and Ross Baker. The company’s success developed over the years due to valuable customer relationships, promising suppliers, and other strategic partners. Getting as close as possible to their valuable clients and producers is what makes the difference. Their primary philosophy is to source high-end quality products based on sustainability, ethical company structures,and long-term relationship building.
DISTRIBUTION
Distribution facilities consist of a multi-temperature storage and packaging facility with ranges of refrigerated vehicles delivering to various clients within the Western Cape, South Africa. Third party distributors and couriers are used to supplying clients in the remaining parts of the country.

Over the past 10 years, the South African food scene has grown at a rapid pace and our aim is to support and share valuable experiences by supplying Fine Foods, Good Quality,a nd even Better Service! The Wild Peacock Food Emporium was established in 2010 in Stellenbosch. In 2013 it won the Eat Out Produce Award for Outstanding Outlet in South Africa. Its aim is to supply and accommodate members of the public with these exceptional products in a retail outlet. Clients will be treated to a large wine selection, deli, and food offering as well as a full restaurant, also available for outside catering.
