From Sunflower buffs to Sunflower masks!

What a way to celebrate ! It is almost 1 May, which promises a bit more moving around. In one act we can honour this Champion, it is a simple task, wear your face mask.

To date, 2 136 face masks were made since we started 3 weeks ago. Well done ladies and gents!

Where did the face masks go? Hospitals, clinics, food packages, night shelters, farms, retail stores, petrol stations, one-on-one interactions, family, friends, volunteers to name but a few.

We are in need of the following:
1. Fabric
2. Skill (to make face masks)
3. Financial donations (see page or Instagram feed for details)

You are welcome to order face masks from us, if you can afford it we will ask a donation which in turn makes more masks.

Do you feel ‘homebound’ but would like to help. Here is how:

(1) Drop food parcels or any non-perishable food items at Shofar Church in Worcester (behind McDonald's, Shoprite and Absa in Town) 10am-12pm from Monday to Friday (see photo).⁠

(2) If you made a food parcel and cannot bring it to the drop-off-point please send your address in Worcester or surrounds to 0606260704 and we will send someone to pick it up at your home for distribution.⁠

(3) Donation Trolleys at SPAR Q Square and KWIKSPAR Breedevallei.⁠

(4) Become part of the sewing team (making masks) or make your contribution towards or order your Face mask by contacting 079 019 1935. Order masks from us and donate - your donation covers a few more faces.

Take a guess... nope it is not a heap of string, fabric, weird looking spaghetti or even a heap of face masks.

This is a heap of effort, joy, care, skill, love, time and patience.

One week later and we are on 816+ masks. ‘Thank you’ doesn’t serve justice to the ladies (and men that sometimes get to help) making these masks. It is however the best I can offer. ‘Thank you very much. You are the Mask Champions of Worcester.’
