Happy New Year!

Last week, VisionFund International (VFI) Africa region comprising of 11 eleven Micro Finance Institution in African countries held it's Simba Annual Awards in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania at Ramada Beach Resort.

Am excited to share that VisionFund Zambia won in two categories that is Portfolio Quality and Savings Linkage Loan number of groups both at Bronze level. We bit industry standard at 5% overall as a region.

VisionFund Zambia Chief Executive Officer, Mr Simon Ziba will tomorrow be among the Top Notch Speakers at this year's Prestigious Banking and Finance conference which will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Lusaka.
The Conference agenda will include a broad range of topical presentations and panel discussions by top speakers,bringing theoretical and practical experiences on growth drivers post Covid 19 for the sector, with 'tomorrow's bank ' in mind.

This is an important event for the financial sector, and it attracts all players from the financial sector and beyond.

Last week, VisionFund Zambia (VFZ)was privileged to participate in the Institute of Risk Management Zambia's (IRMZ)Inaugural Annual Risk Conference 2023, represented by our Risk and Compliance Team. Our Head Risk and Compliance was one of the speakers at the just ended Conference whose theme was Managing Tomorrow's Risks Together:A Game Changer for Value Creation.

She also led the summary panel Discussion which covered topics on How Risk Practitioners and their Teams can be Better Equipped to spot and analyze future Risks: Rethinking Enterprise Risk Management (ERM): Integrating Risk into Strategy Formulation and Operational Management: ERM and Resilience: The Missing Link and the Role of the Risk Leader and: the Role of Internal Audit in Risk Management.

She was accompanied by some of her team members as highlighted in the picture story here.

The participation of VFZ in the Annual Risk Conference demonstrates its commitment through the Board and Management in setting the right tone at the top with respect to Risk Management. This additionally, supports one of VFZ 's strategic focus areas of enhanced portfolio quality through strengthening the control environment by continously enhancing skills in the second line of defense. VFZ believes that through participation in such forums knowledge is acquired, shared skills are enhanced. Furthermore, this demonstrates VFZ's cognizance of the importance of Risk Management's role as a catalyst to enhancing sustainability in its business operations.
