Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Honourable Gary Nkombo, MP, delivering his speech when he officiated at the launch of the Integrated Development Plans (IDPs) for the Districts in Muchinga Province. The event was held at Chinsali Municipal Council Hall, today, Tuesday 18th June, 2024. On Monday, 17th June 2024, the Minister launched the IDPs for eight Districts in Luapula Province. The event was held at Sali Lodge in Mansa District. An Integrated Development Plan (IDP) is a principal strategic planning instrument which gives an overall framework for development in a particular District. The document guides planning, budgeting, management and decision-making by all sectors in the District, and places a greater emphasis on the integration of socio-economic and spatial planning. The construction of the double-storey market is estimated to be completed in the next 16 months. More than 2,000 traders are expected to occupy the facility once it's completed.
