1. Remember architectural designs are unique to individual preferences, site location and client needs.
2. Professionals such as quantity surveyors will save you thousands/hundred thousands / millions, through budgeting, preparation of bills of quantities, material schedules etc ...
With professionals their is little or no theft, you will employ materials management.
You will save money by buying the right materials the first time.
With professionals, redo/corrections works are minimised.. Take note that every correction you make on site costs a lot of money.
3. Application of value engineering; some designs are expensive to build & are possibly not meant for you, a professional will help you build in accordance with your budget, with an objective to complete your project on time.. ....... Know your opportunity costs; alternative materials/ alternative designs i.e. flat roofs are cheaper but if not done correctly easily cause roof leakages, you will not need to spend on cement & sand for screed if your slab is power floated...........

We need to make Zambia a more beautiful built environment..
