*STOP USING THE NAME OF THE RULING PARTY IN YOUR BUSINESS BATTLES CHINESE NATIONAL WARNED*

In a strange turn of events, a Chinese national by the name of Li Dingsheng has been reported to the police by a Chinese company for alleged theft involving more than $50,000 but Mr Li is threatening to have the company closed using his connections in the ruling party.

Li Dingsheng who was working for a chinese company called Zamfastest logistics before starting his business in chambeshi is being accused of stealing huges some of money from his former company where he was working as a manager. In order to escape the criminal activities, Li has been pushing for the closure of his former company by sponsoring propaganda that the company is mistreating workers aligned to UPND. Officers from the Ministry of labor quickly moved in to investigate the allegations but all the workers denied any mistreatment or discrimination on Party lines.

When contacted Li Dingsheng expressed ignorance on the matter and refused being behind the propaganda against his fellow Chinese national but some of his agreed that their boss was accused of stealing a lot of money and some his workers have been trying to help him by making propaganda without his consent.

"Yes our boss was accused of stealing money but he not behind those things you see in the media, it's just some of his drivers who also used to work with him at the same company. He got them and they're working for him and he is treating them well so sometimes they just write bad things about Zamfastest logistics because they want it closed as competitor" said one of Li's workers.

Zamfastest logistics has reported Li Dingsheng to the police and he due to appear today Friday 10th June 2022. And UPND youth have warned Li against the using of the name of the party to fight business battles.

"Knowing senior officials in UPND cannot shield anyone from prosecution if indeed that person stole. We appeal to the police to investigate this matter further. No one should use the name of the party in their business fights. We know that Li he does not belong to UPND and does not have any authority to threaten anyone using the name of the party" said Deputy national youth IPS.

EU-AU Summit Update

Fellow citizens, today we met, on your behalf, with the European Investment Bank (EIB) delegation, led by its President, Dr Werner Hoyer. In this meeting we briefed them on our three priorities of recovery, repair and revive. We expressed to the meeting that we are keen on cooperating with the EIB in line with our mutual priorities of climate mitigation, infrastructure development, small and medium enterprise support, and human development.

Further, we informed the meeting that even though we inherited a bad economy saddled with high inflation and interest rates coupled with unsustainable debt, we are determined to put the country back on track. We reiterated that we are keen on rooting out corruption completely so that any partnership with the EIB will be properly structured to benefit both parties and most especially the people of Zambia.

In the meeting, we also stated that the best asset Zambia has, are its people, who are hardworking, but have been let down by successive Governments. This is one of the things we embarked on correcting the very first day we set foot in Government.

On their part the EIB have reaffirmed their commitment to work with the people of Zambia to address the challenges that face us. We will continue engaging with the EIB at technical level to ensure that some of the actions that have been agreed to are effected. We used the opportunity to sell Zambia’s tourism as well as send a message to investors that Zambia is open for joint ventures and the people of Zambia are ready to revitalise our economy.

God bless Zambia.

*PRESS STATEMENT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE*

*DON'T CRY VICTIM OVER CORRUPTION CRUSADE, RECOVERING OF ALL STOLEN ASSETS IN MOTION*

*16TH SEPTEMBER, 2021*
___________________________

President Hakainde Hichilema has assured the Nation that the fight against corruption will be systematic and methodical and that this include the past, present and even future State resources abuses.

And the Head of State has advised any one who will be caught up in the corruption crusade not to cry victim as no political hand will be involved in the process.

The President has stated that there will be no sacred cows in the corruption crusade adding that his position on recovering stolen State assets remains the same.

President Hichilema adds that the state institutions mandated to fight graft will deal with all matters related to corruption and other financial crimes but calls on the Nation to support the mandated bodies.

The Head of State made these remarks when he met a group of senior citizens under the umbrella of Our Civic Duty Association (OCIDA) led by His Grace, Archbishop Telesphore Mpundu in Lusaka today.

The OCIDA delegation met the Head of State to make submissions on issues of National importance.

President Hichilema has since inception stated that he will fight corrupt rigorously describing it as cancerous scourge.

Below is the statement from the Head of State....

This morning we were joined at State House by senior citizens of our Country under the umbrella of Our Civic Duty Association (OCIDA), an organisation that promotes good governance and economic development for all and led by Archbishop Telesphore Mpundu.

During the meeting, we stated that the corruption crusade is actually in effect and that there shall be no sacred cows.

We also stated that the process to recover all stolen government assets is in motion and that sooner than later if not already, those involved in the plunder of public resources are and will be already crying victim.

In recovering the stolen assets, we will need every hand and support. And once all these resources are recovered, our People will rejoice and we will channel all this stolen wealth to developing the Country for the betterment of all our citizens.

However, we will not use a political hand in this fight against corruption but will instead allow institutions mandated to do so to pursue these crimes independently. We therefore call on all Zambians to support them by any means necessary.

We also reiterated that those who will be found wanting will be taken through the set rules and laws and that no one should be arrested before investigations are done, and that when they are arrested if the cases will be bondable or bailable, this should be made available.

We further expressed our hope that the Judiciary must expeditiously be dealing with these matters because we are in a hurry to develop the Nation but we will be methodical and systematic in the way we shall run the affairs of our Country.

During the meeting, we also stated that we are resolved to ensuring that national resources are distributed fairly, equitably and across the Country and that during our budget, we will ensure that decentralisation of resources is done and this will be superintendent upon by constituencies and officers to handle this will not be drawn from the National headquarters as that would be another source of corruption among others.

On the Electoral processes raised by the senior citizens, just like during our address to Parliament, our being in State House is largely due to the Youths out there who we are now calling as a 'New generation of the Liberation Struggle' and pioneers of their future. We have put in place expeditious plans for jobs, business opportunities, education and quality health care services for all and in a matter of time, this will be actualised. Under this score, we also stated that whilst in office, we will ensure an independent Electoral Body.

Meanwhile on matters related to the Country's constitution as raised by the senior citizens, we emphatically stated that this will be looked at and that issues that are not clear and eventually leading to a sitting Head of State going for a third term, will be amended to make it clear and strict that a sitting Head of State should only run as per the Constitution requirement and that's two terms only.

We also stated that under this exercise, we will ask you, the citizens on what should be contained in the Constitution and that we will not in any way go the direction of the past Bill 10. This will be a consultative exercise.

However, we did underscore that top on our agenda is now job creation, business opportunities, education and quality health care services for all and paramount to these also is the lowering of the cost of living.

We are firmly committed to delivering the much desired change for all and in a matter of time, this will begin to be felt and indeed seen.

We remain grateful to all of you Zambians out there for this opportunity you gave us and all your concerns are being methodically and systematically receiving the much needed attention and we are optimistic that the benefits will at least be pleasing to all.

May God Bless our Country.

Hakainde Hichilema
President of the Republic Zambia
