This afternoon, we witnessed the launch of the Tennor and Amatheon Farm for Agricultural Expansion in Mumbwa district, Central province.

We are grateful that our farmers are responding to our call to produce food all year round.

We encourage commercial farmers to consider sharing their knowledge, skills, and machinery with neighboring small-scale farmers.

This collaborative approach will not only enhance productivity but also foster a sense of community.

And in our engagement with traditional leaders of Mumbwa district led by Senior Chief Shakumbila, we committed to continue constructing our traditional leaders' palaces, offering free education, and creating jobs in various sectors so as to uplift our lives.

Together, we shall overcome these challenges and build a prosperous Zambia for all.

The First lady's Office has donated a wheelchair to a 15 year old girl, GRACE KALUWANI, a grade 6 pupil at Bunda bunda Primary School in Chongwe District.

Grace has been struggling to get to school using a wooden tricycle.

This follows an appeal made by EMMANUEL MUBITA a concerned citizen residing in the same area.

The First Lady’s office in partnership with Merck Foundation also donated assorted items which include six thousand exercise books, stationary, one thousand 700 school bags and 3,334 story books to the school.

And Technical Advisor to the First Lady, SHELLY TAYALI, who represented Mrs HICHILEMA says the donation is expected to assist pupils at the school who do not have access to necessary school materials.

Meanwhile, Chongwe District Education Board Secretary, JOSEPH CHANDA has thanked the Office of the First Lady for the donation.

And KALUWANI, who received a new wheelchair thanked Mrs HICHILEMA for coming to her aid through the gesture.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Today, at the Kafue Zambia National Service Military Training School, we commissioned Officer Cadets.

The Zambia National Service was founded under the visionary leadership of our Founding President, Dr. Kenneth David Kaunda, to instill military and entrepreneurship skills, as well as discipline, in young Zambians. This training extended to secondary school graduates, including myself, as part of the 1980 intake.

Today's ZNS pass-out, like other recent pass-outs from different wings of the Defence Force, gives significant recognition to the youth of Zambia.

Our government has dedicated similar recognition to youth recruitment in the health and education sectors of our nation.

Our message to the youth is clear: your government is looking out for you, now and in the future.

We congratulate our graduating officers who have undergone nine months of intensive training in various disciplines. We commend them for their bravery, resilience, and discipline.

They must now use this sense of duty and patriotism to make meaningful contributions to the nation and our communities.

The Zambia National Service holds a unique position that spans defense, national development, and food security. The service must accelerate its efforts to combat poverty and food insecurity and contribute to providing employment for youths through voluntary skills training.

Our government is fully committed to supporting the initiatives of the Zambia National Service in national development, food security, and national security.

This afternoon, we had the pleasure of meeting with the World Bank delegation, led by Group Managing Director Mr. Wencai Zhang, at State House. We discussed matters of mutual interest and expressed our appreciation for the World Bank's long-standing support and solid partnership with Zambia, particularly during our nation's debt crisis.

We are proud to have made significant progress in the restructuring process, becoming the first country to do so.

The World Bank has also played a crucial role in providing substantial external financing to complement our efforts in mitigating the economic and humanitarian impacts of the worst drought in living memory.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the World Bank on economic programs initiated and owned by our government, recognizing them as valued partners in development.
