Food allergies and eczema
It is still unknown what the connection is between foods and eczema. There is no clinical evidence that there is any connection between diet and eczema getting better or worse in adults not only in Zimbabwe but the world over. Many parents believe that their child's eczema is caused by something they are eating, but most children with eczema see no change in either eczema after eliminating food from their diets. That's why I always advise not to effect any changes on diet without consultation.
Even if the diet changes work, they still need to have a good skincare routine to protect against other triggers. The whole idea is on managing the skin while controlling eczema. It is rarely diet alone that triggers eczema. It requires a lot of considerations since it is an immunological condition.
Keeping a diary of what your child eats and the condition of their eczema can be useful when talking to your GP & allergy specialist or eczema consultant. Most GPS have little or no information on eczema so u might find it misleading.
Before changing your child's or your diet, please seek medical advice to ensure you are still receiving a balanced diet.

Eczema is brought about by the complex interplay of a genetic predisposition and the child’s environment. Many things – from the climate to possible allergens – can cause eczema to flare. We know that eczema tends to run in the families with a predisposition to other atopic diseases, such as food allergies, asthma and hay fever. Individuals with atopic dermatitis may lack certain proteins in the skin, which leads to greater sensitivity. Parents with eczema are more likely to have children with eczema. However, the exact way it passes from parents to children is still not known. Most children who have eczema will show signs of the condition in the first year of life. It tends to wax and wane in severity.

Instead of getting an allergy test how best can we identify triggers of eczema ?
This is a tricky question but the best would be eliminating possible food triggers re introduce them one by one monitoring how the body responds
