Developed by Ellis and Associates, the 10/20 Protection Standard ™, is widely recognized as the industry standard for swimmer surveillance.

Lifeguards are trained to scan their entire Zone of Protection® area within 10 seconds and to reach and render aid to a distressed guest within 20 seconds.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹-𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁

Once again, we will “Make a Difference in Aquatic Safety” at Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, from 2nd-7th February 2025.

Students will participate in a variety of educational sessions on a diverse list of subjects led by some of the most highly regarded industry professionals and educational speakers from around the world.

Successful completion of the 2025 International Aquatic Safety School-East will include ILTP® Instructor Licensure; First Aid, Healthcare Provider CPR, AED, and Supplemental Oxygen Instructor Licensure, plus vanGUARD: Aquatic Leadership Training certificate of completion. New Instructors will also receive a Train-the-Trainer Course certificate of completion (along with accompanying CEUs).

Included in tuition, EDUTours are optional post school events that will take place across the regions premier parks on 8th and 9th February.

Lemmy Muriuki,

Lemmy began his journey in the aquatics industry as an Open Water lifeguard at Wild Wadi Waterpark before going on to work for additional Jumeirah resorts.

Lemmy developed a passion for aquatic safety, and became a Lifeguard Instructor in 2012 and for the past 13 years has had the opportunity to engage with and impact lifeguards across the region, with one mission of Zero Drownings. Lemmy is enthusiastic about training and creating a comfortable and inclusive environment for all learners. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and creative arts.

Lemmy is currently based at Desert Falls Water & Adventure Park, one of the biggest water parks in the Middle East, with the first man-made canyoning experience. In his current role as Assistant Operations Manager, he is part of training leaders for the team, overseeing both the Ellis and Associates ILTP® program, as well as all internal trainings within the water and adventure park!

Today our team visited client facilities around the globe celebrating International Lifeguard Appreciation Day! Thank you for being the real-life superheroes who keep us safe in the water every day. We are endlessly grateful for your dedication and heroism!
