Take a trip to Italy’s neighbouring and less visited country – the misunderstood Albania. This beautifully mountainous and enigmatic country will get you thinking. An illuminated tunnel is one of the capital city Tirana’s newest artistic attractions. Terminal for Tirana was commissioned by the Albanian Ministry of Culture and the Tirana Art Lab and has just opened. Artist Karolina Halatek is interested in near-death experiences, and her newly installed work explores this theme. Terminal for Tirana has just been installed in a newly designed public space near the entrance to the Mother Teresa Hospital.

Happy to share with you some photos from the Inauguration of “Terminal for Tirana” by Karolina Halatek. Vice Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation Ms. Lira P**a, Director of Tirana Art Lab Adela Demetja, artist Karolina Halatek, architect Dea Buza in the presence of project collaborators and visitors introduced the project and revealed the impressive installation of “Terminal for Tirana” and the revitalised park around the artwork. Many visitors enjoyed the radiant “tunnel of light”, which will be permanently accessible to the public at the Main Entrance of University Hospital Center “Mother Teresa”.

“Terminal for Tirana” is supported by the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation as part of the project “Art in Public Space” and managed by Tirana Art Lab.

Some photos from the talk on the 13th of March about “Terminal for Tirana”. Artist Karolina Halatek and collaborators Doris Alimerko, Dea Buza, Adela Demetja, Genti Gjikola discussed the permanent art work in public space and the details of this two year long and successful project.
