One of my Guiding Sisters Annabel Dance lost her battle to Ovarian Cancer recently and one of the things I truly admired her for was her dedication in educating women on the signs and symptons of Ovarian Cancer.
So today I continue what she started and I’m also dearly hoping for your support by donating what you can.

SIGNS & SYMPTOMS OF OVARIAN CANCER
The signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer are often vague or non-specific in the early stages, such as unexplained weight changes and appetite loss. This is one of the key reasons as to why ovarian cancer is so lethal and is mostly diagnosed in the advanced stages (3 and 4).
The most common symptoms and silent signs of ovarian cancer are:

* Unexplained weight loss
* Vague abdominal pain or pressure
* Feeling of abdominal fullness, gas, nausea, indigestion - different to your normal sensations
* Sudden abdominal swelling, weight gain or bloating
* Persistent changes in bowel or bladder patterns
* Low backache or cramps
* Abnormal vaginal bleeding
* Pain during in*******se

When ovarian cancer symptoms are experienced, they are often misdiagnosed or attributed to other more common conditions, such as irritable bowel syndrome or food intolerances. If you experience a sudden or persistent onset of these symptoms that concerns you, it is important to consult your doctor.

Sunday 13 October 2024 from 10am to 4pm, held at St John’s Grammar School Secondary Campus, 29 Gloucester Avenue Belair.

It’s a free-entry event for school families as well as the wider local community, offering a fun-filled day of attractions, including:

For entertainment:

A silent disco, live music, games and activities.

For the kids:

Petting zoo, rides, face painting, jumping castle, amusements, hair spray, temporary tattoo stands, colouring in competition

For exploring:

Food kiosk including BBQ, book stall, pre loved clothing stall, plant stall, cupcake stall, wine and cheese marquee, market stalls – over 40 stall holders attending, and Rainbow Brick Road – limited numbers, please pre purchase to avoid disappointment.

Treats including small bundles of coloured pencils, colouring in sheets, stickers, and some G rating DVD’s 💚🎨📚♻️ we get so much joy on a Wednesday watching those little readers and parents needing a good read, choose there books. 📕

“sisters in stiches” made a start on making up some toiletry bags for the homeless. For the West Torrens Council community projects. A special thankyou to my local Buy Nothing Flagstaff Hill/Aberfoyle Park/Chandlers Hill/Happy Valley(East) group, who helped with toiletries. Still more to be made up ♻️💚🪡🧵✂️
