An interesting new arrival to the shop!

"Wawata - Moon Dreaming" - by Hinemoa Elder

"Dr Hinemoa Elder, author of Aroha, New Zealand's top-selling non-fiction title of 2021, shows us how to reclaim intimacy with others, with ourselves, and with our planet using the energies of Hina, the Maori moon. Hina, the Maori moon goddess, has 30 different faces to help illuminate life's lessons - a different face and a different energy for each day of the month. And with her changing light, new insights are revealed."

One of our favourite books currently in the shop... "Traditional Healers of Central Australia: Ngangkari".

Traditional Healers of the Central Desert contains unique stories and imagery and primary source material: the Ngangkari speak directly to the reader. Ngangkari are senior Aboriginal people authorised to speak publicly about Anangu (Western Desert language speaking Aboriginal people) culture and practices.

The practice of traditional healing is still very much a part of contemporary Aboriginal society. The Ngangkari currently employed at NPY Women's Council deliver treatments to people across a tri-state region of about 350,000 sq km, in more than 25 communities in SA, WA, and NT. Acknowledged, respected, and accepted, these ngangkari work collaboratively with hospitals and health professionals even beyond this region, working hand-in-hand with Western medical practitioners.

We've recently restocked our shelves with a range of quality incense resins! You can also find a selection of incense burners here which are suitable for safely burning the charcoals needed for the resins.

Dragon's Blood - Its color is a deep red and shiny incense resin. It can be used in incense blends, spells, for protection, cleansing, in oil infusions, and medicinally. It may also be used to increase the effectiveness of any spiritual working.

Copal - Copal is cleansing, aids in mental and spiritual growth, and stimulates creativity and imagination. It is believed in Ancient Mayan mythology that the god of earth extracted copal resin from the tree of life and gifted it to humans.

Frankincense - This resin is a powerful and valued herb of the ancients. It is used to give honor to Solar Deities, purify or fumigate a sacred space as well as the astral self, and in consecrating ritual tools associated with the discipline of ones will or ego. It is also used in ritual workings to bring manifestation and success to the operation. Frankincense was also used as an ingredient as part of the embalming process by ancient Egyptians.

Myrrh - Some interesting myths that surround Myrrh include it being one of three plants the Phoenix used to build it’s nest, as well as it being cast into the fire out of which the Phoenix is reborn. The mysteries of death and rebirth should be considered when working with myrrh. Using Myrrh in ritual work helps one perceive the way patterns of energy move throughout a space and will give the practitioner a heightened state of awareness of the energy flowing between worlds.

Damar - Also known as Sal or Tibetan frankincense, is a resin from ancient shorea trees. It’s an amazing mood enhancer, insect repellant, and cleanser.

We've got some great books on Rune divination and various sets of Runes themselves.

The word ‘rune’ simply means mystery, whisper or secret and it’s a form of divination or oracle reading system that’s used to help gain insight into situations or questions. Runes have a long history, dating back to ancient use by Germanic and Nordic tribes, and are still widely used in today’s society.
