💦 SALISBURY AQUATIC OPEN DAY - FREE TICKETED EVENT 💦

The City of Salisbury is hosting a Community Open Day at the Salisbury Aquatic Centre, Happy Home Reserve on Sunday 29 September 2024 from 10am to 4pm.

The day will include free family fun including a DJ, inflatables, mini golf, rock climbing, circus workshops and much more!

There will be free entry to all aquatic facilities including the indoor pools, 50 metre outdoor pool, Splash pad and waterslides.

Food vendors will be located outside the centre with a range of low-cost options.

Tickets are required for entry to the aquatic facilities over two sessions to ensure your safety and enjoyment - 10am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4pm

Tickets are free but limited, and are required for every person attending.

In the interest of some good old fashioned Footy Rivalry and the best type of banter in the country, a few of us thought it might be fun to take part in Footy Colours Day during this week as we prepare for the Showdown this weekend.
I know many people in our Pooraka Community go for the other team (most of the educators and lots of families remind me fairly regularly!) but I've been supporting my sometimes struggling Crow boys for 31 years now so I'm pretty sure I can take any digs that are coming my way.
Please join the fun and dress yourselves and your children in their footy colours, footy gear and anything else you can think of during this week.
I have joined the Footy Colours Fundraiser site for anyone who wants to wear their colours for a cause. You can donate using the link below if you'd like, we'll be collecting donations for Children with Cancer.

On Friday we started our celebrations for National Tree Day this Sunday 28th July with an incredibly generous donation from Douggie’s mum who brought us a lemon tree, assorted veges and herbs and gardening accessories for the children to use. The children loved learning about gardening, caring for our environment and very important safety elements to remember when working with soil and plants 🍋🥦🪴
Tilling the soil was hard work but lots of tiny hands helped get the job done and we saw so many budding environmentalists eager to protect our newly planted treasures 🌱
We’re excited to see our garden grow and continue this awesome learning opportunity with the children 💗

Pyjama Day is a always a good idea! Thanks to all our children for joining in the fun, the educators can never resist a day in our comfiest wears!

Our Anzac Day learning is underway as educators teach the children about our soldiers, Anzac biscuits and the significance of the Poppy Flower. The centre will be closed on Thursday 25th April as we observe this important date in the Australian Calendar.
