A bit of nostalgia, the old Rundle Mall escalator that didn’t really lead anywhere! ❤️

Remember when Rundle Mall had the escalator to....well, nowhere really.
There is some discussion about who had a pedestrian mall first, Adelaide or Brisbane. According to some reports Adelaide became the first city in Australia to get a pedestrian mall when traffic which choked Rundle Street was banned between King William and Pulteney Streets and was turned into Rundle Mall.
It was officially opened on 1st Sept 1976 by Premier Don Dunstan.
