What an amazing day!
Thank you to all the students who showed respect, kindness and bravery while having a go at all the events!
It was fantastic to see so many families joining us on the day. We truly love having so many enthusiastic spectators. Thank you for taking the time to join us.
To our team captains - being a leader is tricky! You did an amazing job planning, organizing and encouraging your teams on the day and in the weeks before. The responsibility and commitment to the job showed.
And to our staff - thank you for all the skills and joy you brought to the day. Your hardwork makes all of this possible.
Congratulations to the Blue Team on their Values cup win and to the Red Team for their overall win.
Have a great rest over the weekend and we’ll see you all Monday!

Pooraka Primary School - NAPLAN results are coming home this week.
Receiving NAPLAN results this year? 📄
How results are reported changed last year, so they may be different to what you remember.
Each student’s individual report now shows how they’re tracking against 4 levels of achievement, known as proficiency standards:
✔️ Exceeding
✔️ Strong
✔️ Developing
✔️ Needs additional support
This means results can’t be directly compared to results before 2023.
While the results are reported differently, NAPLAN continues to measure student achievement in numeracy, reading, writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
NAPLAN results highlight a specific point in time. They’re designed to help identify areas to focus on to support students’ development.

World Autism Awareness Day is about raising awareness, acceptance and inclusion surrounding autism.
To help create a world in which autistic individuals are fully supported, championed and celebrated, we must all work together to achieve true acceptance.
No two Autistic people are the same. Each learner with autism is a unique individual.
At Pooraka Primary our staff and students will engage in conversations and activities throughout April to raise awareness, celebrate diversity and create a more inclusive world.
