Are you ready to step onto the competition floor? Join us for an intensive training course designed to give you the edge in your next Jack & Jill competition. Across two sessions, you’ll gain:

- A comprehensive breakdown of how the competition runs, what judges look for, and how scoring works.
- Insights and experiences from four seasoned competitors, sharing tips on what to avoid and what can help you stand out.
- Practice drills and exercises to sharpen your skills and boost your confidence.
- A realistic mock Jack & Jill run-through, simulating both the qualifying and final heats.
- This course is taught by qualified BZDC judges and the hosts of Adelaide’s first two official Jack & Jill competitions.

What is a Jack & Jill?
A Jack & Jill competition is a social dance contest where participants are randomly paired with partners, usually on the spot. The goal is to demonstrate one’s ability to dance well with various partners, focusing on connection, musicality, and improvisation.

What is the BZDC?
The Brazilian Zouk Dance Council (BZDC) is an organization that oversees and promotes Brazilian Zouk dance competitions worldwide, setting standards for competition formats, judging criteria, and rankings.

Based in Adelaide, we have been learning & working with Brazilian Zouk for years. We and a village of people have worked hard to make this congress a reality. It’s more than just an event for us — it’s a dream come true. Our goal is simple: to create a space where dancers from across Australia and beyond can come together, share their love for Zouk, and make unforgettable memories.

We are honoured to run an event of this calibre. To be honest, it still feels a little unreal. We are so grateful to everyone who attends, without you trusting in our vision it couldn’t happen each year. And to the staff that work hard & generously to make this little piece of Zouk history come true, thank you 🙏

The Clark Hall at the Glandore Community Centre is a private & spacious space with a large wooden dance floor, carpeted hang out area, kitchen and own bathrooms.
It’s nestled in a tranquil, green park with a fountain and other features and we are excited to show you in person NEXT WEEK for workshops 💃🏻
