Scales is a Pitjantjatjara woman from Pipalyatjara in the far west of the Aṉangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands.

Scales has worked on several projects with AGSA (including the 'Kulata Tjuta' touring exhibition).
