Our Zainab Al-Sweedy was interviewed by SBS Australia about her experiences fleeing Iraq, and coming to Australia by boat and spending time in the Woomera Detention Centre.

Zainab is using her experiences to give back to the Australian community.

Zainab Al-Sweedy arrived in Australia as a child refugee from Iraq after a seven-day voyage, where her experiences in a detention centre inspired her to study law ⚖️

We were delighted to attend the Law Society of South Australia Legal Profession Dinner last night at the Adelaide Town Hall.

We were even more delighted when our very own Zainab Alsweedy was named one of the recipients of the 2023 Young Lawyers of the Year Award!

Congratulations Zainab, this is absolutely well deserved.

We at MSM Legal Pty Ltd had a great time at the annual Hon. Margaret Nyland Long Lunch, with guest speaker the Hon. former Chief Justice Diana Bryant AO KC of the Family Court of Australia.

This was a terrific start to our day - a thank you gift from a happy client. She was granted her partner visa after suffering domestic violence and the end of the relationship. A very satisfying outcome for her.

We have just received one of the new Resolution of Status visas for a client.
This ends 12 years of dread and despair for him and his family.
We are so very very pleased for them all.

Last week we received a double appeal win at the AAT for two men who arrived in Australia by boat in 2011.

They have been through hell. They spent time in immigration detention, and have spent time in hospital for their mental health as a result.

Now their cases have gone back to the Department to be considered for the recently announced Resolution of Status visas.

We are so very happy for them getting this result, but our clients are numb. It has been over 11 years, and they are exhausted.

We are delighted that our Director Catherine Follett and our Accredited Specialist in Immigration Law Mitch Simmons have been named again as Leading Immigration Lawyers in 2023.
