HELP! I’ve started catching the train from Grange to the city to take my daughter to school. Of course, our products are fragrance free, I don’t personally wear synthetic fragrance or allow it in my house. Even our store has a fragrance free policy for anyone working there but I nearly died with the thick plume of fragrance that everyone was doused in on the train this morning.

Seriously! WTAF? I could taste it. So, so bad. How can I catch public transport that’s awash with literal poison?

What’s wrong with synthetic fragrances? Well, here’s a start…

Allergic Reactions: Synthetic fragrances can cause skin irritation, allergic reactions, and dermatitis. Symptoms may include redness, itching, and rashes.

Respiratory Issues: Inhalation of synthetic fragrances can trigger asthma, bronchitis, and other respiratory issues, especially in sensitive individuals.

Endocrine Disruption: Some synthetic fragrance ingredients, like phthalates, are known endocrine disruptors. They can interfere with hormone function, potentially leading to reproductive issues, developmental problems, and other health concerns.

Toxicity: Many synthetic fragrances contain chemicals that are toxic to the body. These can include benzene derivatives, aldehydes, and other harmful compounds.
