Sending out a humongous thank you, to everyone for enduring my hourly SPINATHON 2024 updates! All the comments of bewilderment, encouragement & generous donations (a lot from people I've never met).... helped push me onwards. Hopefully my constant posts were taken well by all (& not seen as nuisance "spam"), as I continued my 24 hour ride. These hourly updates helped to raise awareness for the yearly event & our amazing Albany Community Hospice. Plus helping to keep my mind active, as I peddled away.
Why do I fundraise for Albany Community Hospice? Hospice provides award-winning holistic palliative care to all who need it. It is the aim of the Hospice to provide this service at no cost to their guests or their families, and thanks to the ongoing generosity of the community they have been able to continuously achieve this aim.
Admission to Hospice is non-discriminatory and open to persons of all ages from newborn to the elderly, providing Hospice has the resources to care for them. Some of us may have been touched already by the services provided by Hospice & some of us may need their assistance in the future. It not something you can predict & as mentioned above, your loved one could be of any age.
This has been my 6th time riding the full continuous 24 hours & my eldest daughter's 3rd 24 hour ride (she's not yet as tough as her mum, but I am blessed & so proud of her continued involvement & that of my younger daughter)
Including this years fundraising, I now would have raised around 19k+ from all my years of involvement with Spinathon ♡
