Faiths rest… believing in something you can’t see is not that difficult. I can’t see my pancreas but I know it’s there. I can’t hold my memories but I still experienced them. I can’t touch the stars but I know they exist. Faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not yet seen. It will s not blind trust. But a deep knowing that once you have been touched by its power you can easily find your rest.

I varnished this painting and listed on my website today. And…. Realised it looks pretty sweet vertical as well. Just for fun , just out of interest which do you like best? Looks like this will have multiple hanging devices installed 😂.

I started this piece a few months ago as an abstract. But no matter what I did I couldn’t stop seeing the figure standing in there. Because I was’t listening , I put it away in my shelf to sit. This week when it came out to be finished , I surrendered to the idea that he was there for a reason. As I painted away psalm 23 came through my mind..”even though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death , I will not fear. For you are with me. Without a word of a lie , just as this thought passed through my mind, these exact words were sung in the music that was playing in the background… Oh yes! Thats what it is then. Friend if you are stumbling through some dark times… look up. All of heaven is waiting to hear your hearts call.

When your studio is actually a tin shed open to the elements. I work in our shed with the roller door up for light… Not too glamour puss in the winter , thats for sure. You are lucky I didnt show you the full photo. Woolie socks and all… such a sexy look.

Im still working on this one and kinda stuck to which rotation looks best. So I thought i would get your thoughts… #1 or swipe for #2.

This piece would need to be behind you desk not in front. Would never get any work done .. my day dreaming would be next level lol….

May our hearts be always fragranced with enough humility to acknowledge the value of every soul. Seasoned with enough pain to understand the pain of others and courage enough to love beyond our own boundries. Grant me a humble heart.

Beyond the brush…. What does it mean? Simply it means that Art can take you further beyond this moment. Colour, form and texture are mere catalysts to communicate a message , emotion or something that words don’t quite say. As an artist , painting is my language . Have you ever tried experienced being emotionally moved through an artwork? I would love to hear about it.

From the head to the heart… believe it or not what we think about matters. Why does it matter? Because what we think about will eventually land in our hearts and eventually will come to pass. A few years ago I began to pray that I would be made aware of my thoughts. Honestly I was horrified when it started to happen. Unconsciously my mind was thinking about, mulling over, stewing on really unhealthy things. Just little things like replaying offences or criticising my appearance. It was then that I realised that it was no wonder I often felt overwhelmed and unworthy. Learning to take captive your thoughts and stop them in their tracks has been one of the most valuable of my life lessons. If we are to make our hearts a safe place where love is cultivated. We must protect it from our stinking thinking and meditate on only what is good and profitable. Easier said than done… but possible.

Speak to the mountains, it’s time to move! We all have mountains that threaten to obstruct /destruct our lives. I dont think any human lives without mountains. Mountains can be habits, addictions. relationships or maybe debt. Some of our mountains are self made and seem impossible to change.
This last week I have been confronted by some fears and anxieties that I seemed helpless to change. And before me was presented a choice…
Lay down and give in … or rise up and take back ground.
Sometimes all it takes is to just stand up and shout at that mountain and tell it to move out of my way… Im coming through. Feeling like it or not… As soon as I rose up and faced my fears the Holy Spirit meet me with fire! Within moments the problems began to crumble and diminish . When I stopped agreeing with the mountain and started to kick it down with the Truth!…. It’s time we stopped bowing to our feelings, being led astray by our thoughts and started to live like who we really are. Sons and daughters of the most high.

It’s all happening around here… The urge to paint big has been increasing so it was time to build a wall to paint on. I’m just finishing up to gib stopping and then can get it sealed. Can’t wait!!! In the mean time have been painting some abstracts. Oh … and not to mention getting my winter veggies planted and cleaning out the spoutings… hmmm it’s all good!
