🔥 Recovery Update 🔥

Today marks 4 months since our home was set on fire, and we are finally able to give you some positive news about the recovery progress!

After some considerable challenges with infrastructure repairs, the electricity was switched back on⚡️and we got access to light once again!!

This happened in August while the team was away in Perth for Eternal MMA. It was an important and necessary step as working within the building (even with industrial torches) was not productive , or safe.
About a week later, builders were able to visit and make some important changes to the entrance of the gym, which in turn has allowed the contents to be removed, and cleaning to get underway.

The damaged ceiling tiles have now been removed, and the cleaning team is cleaning every inch of the facility - even inside the ceiling cavity🧹

At this stage, it is still impossible to provide a date for reopening. There have been many unexpected delays to this point, and while work has steadily picked up pace with the lights back on, we are aware that there is still a long way to go.

We hope to reopen before Christmas.

Hello everyone, most of you already know by now but for those that don’t, or would like to know the details we thought we should fill you in.

In the early hours of Saturday morning an explosion was deliberately set off out the front of the gym. The glass doors were broken and petrol was poured inside. Two jerry cans of petrol along with our gas meter were set alight which caused the explosion. The fire was contained to the front area of the building, however there is extensive smoke damage throughout, including in the ceiling and ventilation.

Most of our senior staff and students were in Sydney when the attack occurred, and others were preparing for fights in Melbourne which were scheduled for the following day. At about 4am our manager Elle was awoken by the police and was on the scene all day. Specialist services conducted an investigation which is ongoing.

Members should note that ALL membership fees have been stopped. Membership fees will not accrue while we cannot provide a service. We did the right thing by our customers during the Coronavirus pandemic and will do so again now. Please check your emails for specific information for members which will go out within the next 24 hours. If you are a member and need to update your contact information, please send us a message or email.

We wish to thank the emergency services who attended the scene and also whoever it was that put the call in after hearing the explosion, what a legend! Thank you! We are also grateful for our wonderful landlord Peter, and our neighbours at the Trophy Shop who have been so understanding.

Finally (at least for this post), we want to let everyone know that we are okay. We are currently working with our insurance and the police. We are a strong and resilient community. This attack was petty and spineless. It has not intimidated us or broken our spirit. It has not taken our dignity or worth. Our future is bright. WE ARE INFINITE ✊

Very proud of our two athletes that went down to compete in Demolition Fight Series last night.

Michael “What’s Up” Alsop succeeded with a win in an interim title contest that was full of fireworks. This was one of Michael’s best performances yet!

Bailey “Zyzz” Andrews didn’t get the win he was after, but left the cage without damage and ready to get back into training.

This is a tough sport that creates tough people. It is always a privilege to step into the cage, especially at Demolition Fight Series. We are already looking forward to the next one 👊
