The November spring garden is beautiful, with trees and shrubs flowering, fruit trees and vegetables showing the promise of crops to come and the lawn lush and green 🌳

Thanks to Healthy Loddon Campaspe's Support Your Own, Choose Locally Grown Campaign, it is easy to tell what the best produce to plant and eat is.

We have recently harvested beetroot, lettuce, snow peas and spring onion at Golden Gums Farm in Starthfieldsaye, and we can confirm they are delicious - look out for them at our weekly market!

What produce have you been growing and eating?

Remember if you have too much, you can always drop your extras off at our warehouse in Long Gully. Our Grow a Row, Pick a Branch Program is part of our Grow Cook Share Food Hub, which is supported by Bendigo UFS Pharmacies and VicHealth. This way it won’t be wasted and those in our region who are struggling can enjoy some fresh, home-grown fruit and veg.

We struggled to juggle staff last time, and as many of the kids are 1:1 funding, we need more hands on deck.

To celebrate the official first day of winter, we are excited to share our program for our Winter School Holiday Program at Ironstone Hill.

This term, we have listened to feedback from participants and have extended the daily programs 2 hours from 9.00am-3.00pm.

Our wonderful Care Team have been run off their feet at Murphy House welcoming heaps of new participants for both long term accommodation and NDIS respite in Bendigo.

Our Supported Residential Service (long term Accommodation) is currently at 60% capacity after only receiving registration 3 weeks ago!

SASS is a massive supporter of junior sport and we were proud to sponsor this awesome cycling event in our home town of Bendigo. Well done to the Bendigo & District Cycling Club and all the volunteers on an exciting 6 weeks of competition.

There is some great talent amongst our junior cyclists in Bendigo. Well done to all the kids who participated.

The autumn school holidays are just around the corner (Friday 7 April – Sunday 23 April) and our Ironstone Hill School Holiday Program is back!

Our Ironstone Hill Team have been busy pulling together another awesome fortnight of activities commencing from 11 April.

Our program has become legendary with our existing participants and we are eager to see some new faces. You will be FALL-ing over to get a place and you will not want to be LEAF-ing early (we love a good autumn pun).
