We are super excited to be a part of this awesome event!

I absolutely love Christmas and cannot bear the thought of children missing out on a present on Christmas Day.

We are a drop off point for unwrapped presents for ALL of November. A Christmas tree will be in store this week with buckets to place your new gifts in, these will be given to local families this Christmas, via the Salvation Army.

Also we have decided as a business that all the money collected from the cans and bottles will be used to buy gifts for this wonderful cause.

Honestly, I don’t talk about mental health enough, and it’s time I share a bit.

It's been a hard week!

Living with ADHD and anxiety means I struggle with lots of challenges every day. Most of which are invisible and I can mask or hide from everyone, except for those closest to me.

But when it's time for Mr to go through his regular check-ups for melanoma, it is very hard to stay grounded when my mind is always racing.

Normally I can get through the week with just a few struggles and face each day, one at a time. But this week has been really rough and it’s a reminder of how fragile and precious our health can be, both mentally and physically.

Today, there were no deliveries, and for that I am sorry but for me to be a good mother, wife, friend, business owner and human I needed to put myself first (for a change) and just stop and take a breath.

If you are struggling , just know you are not alone. Let’s keep showing up, one day at a time. Tomorrow is a new day. We’ve got this. Xo

Both OMG BBQ Australia and I will be off ALL social media tomorrow to support this fantastic cause.
When you have mini humans in this age group it really hits you in the heart.

From 7am tomorrow we are going to be switching off social media for 24 hours in support of Unplug24. We will not be on social media at all, this includes Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat and any other social media platform and we are asking you to do the same.

This initiative by is asking people to switch of social media for 24 hours and have a conversation about the dangers associated with social media.

Why are they doing this??

A young man, Mac Holdsworth, was only 17 when he took his life last year after being sexually extorted by a middle-aged man pretending to be a teenage girl.

This story is tragic but unfortunately it is not unique!

So, this Thursday, (24 October the anniversary of his passing) they are asking people to sign up for Unplug24 to mark the anniversary.

As a small business owner I am always trying to find extra time in my day.

For me that is an hour sitting in the car while the kids are doing sports training.

So let's talk Christmas 🎄🎁

I love Christmas and we have about 10 weeks until the big day but it does mean some early planning on what desserts I will have available for pre-order.

Now I am very conscious of the cost, so while I will make Pavlova for our own family, it is definitely not something I will do for the business as I cannot compete on price from the big supermarkets.

But I also want to make your day as stress free as possible, so pre-orders will be available from the 1st November, so you can get in early and not have to worry about it. Pick up will be Christmas Eve.

So now the countdown is on for me to come up with some awesome desserts for your Christmas Day!

What is your biggest Pet Peeve? Mine is Manners!

Drive me bonkers when someone doesn't use their manners! I'm on the kids backs regularly about their manners and there are times in public (to people I don't know) where I just want to say "please" or "thank you".

But I am starting to notice it in my DMs too. I get messages daily saying "how much is ....? No how are you? No please and no thank you when I do respond.

Maybe I am just getting old and cranky 🤔 🤷

Who has heard all about the Crumbl Cookie Saga?

If you haven't you can search it up but basically Crumbl cookies are huge in America, I have never had one so can't make any comments. Some young men bought 700 of these cookies into Australia and sold them for $17.50 each 😳. (Also not going to comment on the legalities of this) Now Crumbl is coming to Australia.

Any way I bake cookies 6 days a week, yes you read that right 6 days a week I am baking cookies. The fan favourite is definitely the OG Chocolate Chip, with loaded Lemon Meringue and Twix cookies not far behind.

So you don't have to wait for Crumbl to come to Australia, you can get all sorts of cookies fresh right here in Bendigo. If you're elsewhere around Australia support your local.

I have been buying this vanilla since I first met them at a cake bake and sweets show many years ago. I always use this vanilla in my cooking even before "the dessert nerd" existed.

So my advice for you when cooking at home, buy the best quality products you can afford. Try and buy vanilla that is NOT imitation, yes it's a bit more expensive but you don't have to use as much and let's be honest it tastes so much better than the fake stuff!
