THIS IS HANDS DOWN THE BEST BRUNCH I’VE HAD IN A LONG TIME 🙌🏻😍

🥪 Ebi Katsu Sando with Umami Fries: $18.50 (+$4.50 fries)
🍛 Matta Curry Omelette Rice with Chicken Karaage: $20 (+$5 Chicken Karaage)
🍵 Matcha Latte with ice-cream $8.50
🧋Iced Mocha with ice-cream $8

I’ve been so disappointed by Melbourne’s Brunch scene lately, I feel like nowadays brunch is so expensive, the portions are small and most of the time the food and drinks taste pretty average. ANYWAYS, that is not the case with Matta Café in Blackburn, they have GENEROUS portions, REASONABLE prices and most importantly the FOOD TASTES AMAZING!!!

The Ebi Katsu Sando 🥪 was really nice, it has the crispy panko ebi prawn with the crab meat thousand island sauce and soft shokupan white bread, I loved the side of Umami fries 🍟 there were nice and crispy, that’s a must-order side.

The Matta Curry Omelette Rice 🍛 with Chicken Karaage not only come out looking so good, but it tasted really good too! That Chicken Karaage was only $5 to add on and it was SO CRISPY on the outside, and JUICY and TENDER inside, I would say it’s some of the best Karaage I’ve had. The table next to us ordered a whole large plate of the Chicken Karaage and now I know why haha 😂

The drinks were decent but nothing amazing, the matcha latte was nice, I feel like they are also hit and miss at cafes so I’m almost scared to order them now. Like sometimes if it’s $8-$9 for a drink at a café, I would rather get a bubble tea 🧋 later haha I don’t know if that’s just me 😂

The café itself is very cute and cosy, the service is friendly and food came out really quickly. I definitely would come back to try other items on the menu 😊

Check out this cafe after hiking on a Saturday morning🥰 the weather was great and ambience was peaceful and quiet 🏡 we tried the spicy octopus and ebi sando, both tasted amazing🤩. For drinks, on top of the normal black and white coffee, they also offer matcha, hojicha and osmanthus latte. Would definitely go back again and try them out!
