ππ Stanthorpe's Apple and Grape Festival kicked off last night ππ
We don't open our farm to the public, however there are some farms that do!
We know the guys from both Nicoletti Orchards and Eastern Colour, so if your interested in having a day out and experiencing a bit of what we do, check out the details of open days of these working farms.
Things to do in Stanthorpe During Apple Harvest Season - Granite Belt Wine Country Apple Harvest season in Stanthorpe takes place from February to May each year.
One of our many jobs this week was harvesting Nashi Pears.
Nashi are super juicy, sweet and eaten crisp like an apple. If you have never tried one before you don't know what your missing.
We will have these along with loads more fresh produce tomorrow at Mt Gravatt Markets.
Weather is looking great, can't wait to see you all.
We have begun harvesting Capsicums.
Red Capsicums are currently in short supply due to the weather. Many that we have picked weigh over 500 grams each! Head down and see us tomorrow to grab some.
We will also have more fresh picked Gala Apples. Being a favourite, they were a sell out last week.
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow Mt Gravatt Markets
Rain, hail or shine! We made it and have set up this morning.
Make sure to wear your gumboots and have your raincoats and umbrellas handy too!
The nifty gadgets we have for those moments away from the workshop.
We had a flat tyre on the bin trailer as we were picking pears today. Knowing that we may not have made it back to the workshop to use the big air compressor, this portable lightweight came in very handy!
You know you're nearly home when you see this icon.
Over the past few weeks we have been out planting seedlings of tomatoes, zucchini and cucumbers. This week saw us planting leeks and brussel sprouts.
We hope everyone had a great Christmas/New Year.
We have still been busy on the farm over the break, but did manage to have some time with friends and family.
We will be well stocked with fresh produce tomorrow including our first pick of our super tasty baby Roma tomatoes.
We look forward to getting back into our routine and seeing everyone tomorrow at Mt Gravatt Markets

Stonefruit is still in season and the taste has been incredible. They make the perfect addition to your Christmas fruit platter.
The whole crew was out putting star pickets in the second tomato patch and more strings were added to the first.
Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow at Mt Gravatt Markets.
One of the cats has managed to find the perfect sunning spot on our nursery!
A friendly reminder that there is only tomorrow and next Sunday (24 Dec) to get your fresh fruit and veges for the year!
Our stonefruit has beautiful flavour this year and will make the perfect addition to your fruit bowl.

Looking forward to seeing you Sunday at the Mt Gravatt Markets.
Apricot lovers rejoice!
We have harvested the first apricots of the season. The drier weather has allowed them to produce plenty of flavour.
Find them and more at our stall at the Mt Gravatt Markets this Sunday.
This shy fella waddled out of the granny smith block to make an appearance today.
What a week!
We must first mention that with the fires down around our area, we were safe and had no threat to our property. We thank those of you who were concerned and messaged or called. Rain has made an arrival, which has really given everyone peace of mind and a well deserved break for all the fire fighting crew, both ground and air!
Garlic! Last week, we had on the table fresh picked garlic. Plenty more is available this week.
Asparagus is limited this week, so get in quick!
Plenty of fresh produce is available, looking forward to seeing you today at Mt Gravatt Markets.
All hands have been on deck the past couple of days as we transplanted the kale, silverbeet, parsley and zucchini.
We've also been thinning the peaches and nectarines. With all the trees that we have, Angie always manages to find the one with a lizard.
Look at the size of these leeks! π
We'll have plenty of these whoppers available this Sunday. Known for their milder flavour, they go well in soups, stews, frittatas and even salads.
While in the paddock, a five leaf clover was found! After looking amongst the patch, a further 5 five leaf clovers were found, as well as quite a few four leaf clovers βοΈ π How lucky is that!!!
The forecast is looking to be a beautiful sunny day for Sunday. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
Big weekend ahead too, with the Lions and Broncos both in the grandfinals. Go Lions!! π¦
Today, we came across these two red belly black snakes π
Although it is not an uncommon occurrence to see lone snakes about the farm, this is something that we have never witnessed ourselves.
The youngest team member had spotted them as he was on his way to the dam for a fish just after lunch.
A total of three snakes spotted just today, and the day is not finished!
The bees are busy working their magic amongst the blooms of the stonefruit trees.
Tomorrow is shaping up to be a beautiful day for getting out. See you tomorrow at Mt Gravatt Markets.
Look at these babies grow!
The broccoli seeds we planted the other week are growing. Another few weeks and they will graduate to the paddock.
Last week, we planted broccoli seeds π₯¦
We plant each individual seed by hand, cover with vermiculite, and then transfer these to our nursery. There, they will grow until they they are large enough to plant.
It takes roughly 1 week to germinate and within 5-6 weeks, if all goes well, they will be transplanted in the paddock.
Looking forward to getting back into our Sunday routine and seeing you all!
This week is looking to be the last week of purchasing the ever popular strawberries. It has been an awesome season, resulting in some of the most tastiest strawberries we've had.
See you tomorrow.
Another decent frost this morning, this photo was taken at 8:30am. Even though the mornings are cold the days are usually magnificent as long as the wind stays away. On another note, this Sunday is the last market for the month. Next Sunday 30 July there will be no market due to the Mt Gravatt Show. Markets resume Sunday 6 August. Head on down and stock up on all your fruit and veg at Mt Gravatt Markets
We are still busy pruning our fruit trees. Our powered ladders make life so much easier. Before we owned these, pruning the tops of the trees required a ladder which made the job much more difficult.
Winter time means we are back out and pruning the trees.
We do this every year to maintain the tree structure, removing any dead wood and excess growth.
We're set up and ready to go.
It's going to be a beautiful day out, so come in and see us for your fresh fruit and veg.
We've only a limited amount of persimmons this week, as we have now finished picking.
