WE'RE HIRING! North and South Brisbane.

We require experienced Psychosocial Recovery Coaches and Support Coordinators.

Due to continuing growth, Redfern Rehab is seeking new staff members to complement our amazing team!

Redfern Rehab covers participants in the South and North of Brisbane.

The role is covered unde the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award. The ideal candidate will be seeking full time employment.

As a Recovery Coach and Support Coordinator you will work closely with NDIS participants with psychosocial disabilities to navigate the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and interpret their individual NDIS packages. It is your role to ensure that NDIS participants are getting the most out of their NDIS plans and exercise choice and control.

Essential Criteria:
Must have a Cert IV or equivalent in mental health and/or two years mental health experience.
Must have 2 years + experience in either role

After 8 weeks if performace satisfactory, then the role will be converted to contract, should this be desired.

As a Support Coordinator you will work closely with NDIS participants, many of whom with psychosocial disabilities to navigate the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and interpret their individual NDIS packages. It is your role to ensure that NDIS participants are getting the most out of their NDIS plans and able to exercise choice and control.

As a Recovery Coach you will work closely with NDIS participants with psychosocial disabilities to navigate the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and interpret their individual NDIS packages. It is your role to ensure that NDIS participants are getting the most out of their NDIS plans and exercise choice and control.

Main duties:

The Recovery Coach’s key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Be aware and assess various mainstream, community, provider and informal options in order to offer these to the NDIS participant to allow them to exercise choice and control.

Work collaboratively with our NDIS participants, their families, carers and other services to design, plan, implement and review a recovery plan for participants with a psychosocial disability.

Link the NDIS participant to mainstream or community services (health, transport, education, housing etc.).

Negotiate with services and their prices on behalf of the participant.

Arrange any assessments for the NDIS participant which may determine the type of funding which may be required.

Liaise with an NDIS participant’s relevant plan manager if required.

Resolve issues, complaints or concerns as these arise with the participant and network of support.

Understand their responsibilities as a Recovery Coach under service agreements.

Support in and plan with the NDIS participant in relation to pre-planning meetings (goal and review setting).

Attend appointments with NDIS participants where applicable to support and assist in utilising the NDIS plan if a support worker is unavailable.

About you:

Desirable

Disability Support Worker: Certificate III, IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Disability Services, or another relevant qualification;

Welfare Worker - Membership with the Australian Community Workers Association or equivalent; and

Developmental Educator - Full member of Developmental Educators Australia Inc.

Registered Nurses to be registered with AHPRA;

Occupational Therapists to be registered with Occupational Therapy Australia;

Psychologists to be registered with The Psychology Board of Australia.

Essential

- 2 years experience in mental health and the disability sector
- A working knowledge of the NDIS
- Excellent communication skills
- A commitment to best practice
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and individuals

Role requirements:

- First Aid and CPR certificates (or ability to obtain)
- Current minimum P2 'C' class Queensland drivers' licence
- Registered, roadworthy and comprehensively insured vehicle
- Current national police check certificate
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to apply)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety & You' completion certificate.
