I love cake cutting photos. Such a gorgeous couple!! This cake was a labour of love with many hours spent on making these sugar flowers. Each individual petal is cut; thinned, veined, shaped and dusted. It creates a certain look that buttercream and fresh flowers cannot.

I just had an absolutely massive week with 4 huge wedding cakes to deliver and then this afternoon I found out that I won sugar and wafer flower artist of the year. I am so disappointed that I couldn’t make it to Melbourne to accept the award but was so excited to hear that I was the winner. I wish I had made a more elegant acceptance video now or listened to my husband and written something down. Thankyou so much to and to sponsors .cakes. It was only a few years ago I walked into Cakes around town and saw gorgeous sugar flowers and aspired to make some just as gorgeous as those.
Thankyou especially to my husband who cleans up after my messes and doesn’t mind only using half a dining table at dinner as the rest is covered in flowers, wires and dusts. I am so honoured to have been recognised along side so many amazing cake artists.

My absolutely most favourite cake I’ve made to date.

I am so inspired the most amazing cake maker and her gorgeously, realistic sugar flowers, I just had to have a go. It takes so many hours to create these beautiful sugar flowers but it is so worth it.

This cake was made for a photo shoot for the most gorgeous, hidden gem in Brisbane city and taken by the very clever . Lots more to come!!

I loved making this cake and delivered to the most beautiful venue . All hand made sugar florals and lace work.

I’ve been practicing my wafer paper roses using the techniques from the workshop I did with . I love the results!!

We were so impressed with how beautiful it was and we can’t wait to get our photos back!”

I had the absolute privilege of making my beautiful nieces wedding cake this week, at the lovely reception . She told me the colours and types of florals she was having and left the rest up to me, which was so much fun. Lace work and all handmade sugar florals and leaves I absolutely adore this cake. I had the most wonderful time at the ACADA cake awards last night. While I didn’t win the sugar flower category I sat with some huge cake names in the industry, it was all very exciting.

All white, classic and beautiful.

I spent a good few hours on this fluffy peony to decide not to use it on the wedding cake. Maybe it will come in handy another time.
