Applications are now open for grants up to the value of $150,000 via the Veteran Wellbeing Program.

The program is designed to support local ex-service organisations to develop community-based projects that support the wellbeing of our Lilley veterans and families.

As of January 1st 2024, free kindy has started in QLD.

Our $645 million investment has made kindy free for all Queensland families in 2024. 14,000 children were receiving free kindy, and these historic reforms mean more than 50,000 additional children are able to attend for free.

Kindy is 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year. Free kindergarten is set to save families up to $4,600 per year, putting money back in the pockets of mums, dads, and carers where it’s needed, and it is even more important when the cost of living is a struggle for many families.

To assist with cost of living pressures in 2024, the Miles Government is freezing public transport fares. 🚉🚌🛥️

Your local Housing Service Centre office will be closed from 4:30pm Friday 22 December 2023, reopening 8:30am Tuesday 2 January 2024.

During this time anyone experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness can call the 24/7 Homelessness Hotline on 1800 474 753.

Social housing tenants can call 13 QGOV (13 74 68) for urgent housing support Mon-Fri 9am-4:30pm except public holidays, and 1800 808 107 for 24/7 emergency maintenance.

The Tenant Assist and Housing Assist Qld apps are still available 24/7 as is the online self-service at qld.gov.au/tenantselfservice.

Queensland Rail will be carrying out major track works along the Ferny Grove and CBD lines over the Christmas period as part of Cross River Rail works and ongoing track maintenance.

🚍 Timetabled railbuses will run between Roma Street to Ferny Grove and Northgate stations to help you get to where you need to be, from the first service on Sun 24 Dec (Christmas Eve) through to the last train on Tues 26 Dec (Boxing Day).
