đ Having trouble buying a 2nd hand car with all the scammers on Facebook Marketplace. Why not engage Chat GPT to help you write a time-wasting confusing set of questions that will undoubtedly perplex the would be parasite and hopefully waste their time like theyâve wasted yours. Hereâs our attempt:
Hi,
I hope this message finds you well. I came across your ad for the amazing vehicle you're selling, and I must say, it's truly a dream come true! I'm incredibly interested in purchasing it, but I have a few crucial questions that I need answered before moving forward.
1. Could you provide the exact dimensions of the cup holders? I need to ensure they can fit my collection of vintage thermoses.
2. Does the car come with a built-in toaster? My last car had one, and I canât imagine my morning commute without fresh toast.
3. I noticed the car is listed as having "manual transmission." Is it possible to get it converted to "psychic transmission" so I can change gears with my mind?
4. Can you confirm if the car has been blessed by a certified llama whisperer? This is a tradition in my family, and we believe it brings good luck.
5. Whatâs the carâs zodiac sign? I only drive vehicles that align well with my horoscope.
6. Does the car's radio have presets for classical music stations? Specifically, I need at least three that play only Beethoven.
7. Can the rear seats be adjusted to a 45-degree angle while the car is moving? Itâs the optimal angle for my pet iguana's comfort.
8. Is there a built-in karaoke machine? My road trips are incomplete without singing duets with my goldfish.
9. What is your mother's maiden name and the name of your first pet? Just trying to verify the authenticity of the vehicle, of course.
10. Finally, could you provide a detailed history of your life from birth to present, including but not limited to your favorite childhood memory, the name of your high school crush, and your preferred brand of toothpaste?
I am incredibly excited about the prospect of owning this car, and these questions are merely a formality to ensure itâs a perfect fit for my unique lifestyle. Looking forward to your detailed responses!
Warm regards,
Your Mumđ
Management Consultants , published a report that âallegedâ that â29% of electric vehicle drivers globally (and 40% in the US) would consider switching back to a traditional combustion engine car. Sales of BMW electric vehicles are up 80% year-on-year. The WhipSmart team were lucky enough to have the loan of a BMW i4 eDrive35 over the weekend from Brisbane BMW and it really was a pleasure to drive. We can see why BMW and its other brands (Mini, Roll-Royce Motors) have shifted over 80,000 units in the last 12 months. Looking forward to a drive of some of the other range in the near future.
BMW Group reported delivering 82,700 fully-electric BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce vehicles worldwide in Q1'24, marking a 27.9% year-on-year growth. Despite market fluctuations, the company maintains its focus on advancing electromobility.
Jochen Goller, a BMW AG Board Member, acknowledged the milestone of surpassing one million fully-electric vehicle deliveries since the launch of the BMW i3. He emphasized the company's flexible approach, incorporating combustion engines, plug-in hybrids, and BEVs to meet evolving consumer preferences.
Strong sales were observed in Europe, with BMW and MINI vehicles experiencing a 5.5% year-on-year increase. Notably, the BMW brand saw notable BEV growth of 40.6%, driven by models like the BMW i4 and iX series. BMW M sales also demonstrated an uptick, while MINI prepares for the rollout of its new lineup.
A good tip for EV owners and car owners generally.
Why Shade Matters for Your Electric Car
Parking in the shade is important for electric cars, especially in hot weather, as it helps maintain the battery and car interior at cooler temperatures. High heat can harm the battery's performance and lifespan. By parking in the shade, you can lower the risk of overheating, which can speed up battery degradation. This also enhances comfort and reduces the need for energy-draining air conditioning, conserving battery power.
A report published in March 2024 by the Clean Energy Council, found that renewables overall accounted for nearly 40 per cent of Australiaâs total electricity supply at 39.4 per cent, while figures for generation capacity added were strong at 5.9 GW, up from 5 GW in 2022.

The founder and CEO William Li has achieved a groundbreaking milestone, driving the NIO ET7 over 1,000km on a single charge with the car makerâs Ultra Long Range 150kWh battery. The 14-hour journey from Shanghai to Xiamen showcased the batteryâs potential, using 97% of its capacity in cold temperatures.
đ Unfortunately the NIO ET7 isnât available in Australia yet but that doesnât mean there arenât some fantastic EV models currently available including our car of the month (April â24) the Kia EV9 Air (7 seats + 2 tonne towing), which we currently have available at a significant discount đ and under the luxury car tax threshold of $89k.

There is a divide between advocates and detractors of EVs. In a survey of US voters they found a 55% gap in favourability between Republican supporters (40% unfavourable) and Democrat supporters (15% favourable).
Why such Republican hostility toward electric cars? Itâs tribal. In our modern politics any friend of my enemy must be my enemy too. And this seems pervasive across the world including in Australia.
If Joe Biden is for EVs, then as republicans they must be against them. GOP politicians looking for cheap applause cannot help but pile on and amplify one of the latest turns in the culture war.
But itâs simply nonsense and damaging. As WhipSmart we are technology and politically agnostic. But you just canât argue that for many use cases (not all), EVs are the better choice.
Opinion | Why Republicans Will Regret Their Crusade Against Electric Cars New polling suggests that stance is a political loser in 2024.
