NEWS - NQIT opts for North Queensland regional DC strategy
NQIT which recently rebranded from ALINK with the aim of bringing the “big city” quality of services to Regional Queensland, have migrated all infrastructure to iseek’s Townsville data centre, further strengthening iseek’s position as one of Australia’s leading providers of data centre services.
The NQIT team delivers high quality technical support combined with proactive IT strategies. NQIT Managing Director, Eddie Borg says the move allows NQIT to provide a local service in North Queensland, without compromising on the scope or quality of services.
“As part of our rebranding from ALINK to NQIT, we felt it was time to not only give our North QLD customers a business that caters specifically for their needs, but it was also time to revisit our infrastructure and in particular our data centre requirements,” Mr Borg says.
“After a lengthy 20-year term in Melbourne, we wanted to see how iseek compared to the facilities we were using in both Melbourne and Brisbane.

“This is a team effort and we are all very proud” said iseek’s MD Jason Gomersall.
iseek have announced Rebecca Hersant as the company’s first Chief Customer Officer.
Rebecca joins iseek with over 20 years’ experience focused on customer success in the government, consultancy, not for profit, technology and software industries.
The news follows iseek’s recent launch of their latest data centre in Brisbane and the first PROTECTED cloud solution in Queensland.
According to Jason Gomersall, iseek’s CEO and Managing Director, “we are making some important changes internally to make ensure we continue to keep the needs of our customers and partners at the heart of everything we do. To that end, we have created this new role to enhance the experience for our customers’.
Rebecca stated “I’ve dedicated my career to developing strategic partnerships with customers and implementing customer success adoption across a number of diverse, technology based organisations. iseek has an industry leading reputation in customer experience and my goal is to deepen our focus on customer success across the organisation and drive innovation to meet our customers where they are now and where they want to be in the future”.
Rebecca will report directly to the CEO to drive customer success and adoption across the organisation. Within this role, Rebecca will also lead iseek’s sales and marketing division.

Have questions about PROTECTED Cloud?
Cyber-attacks have risen dramatically throughout the pandemic and, with significantly increased reliance on digital services, security is more critical than ever. In the first 30 days after the initial outbreak of COVID-19 alone, businesses experienced more than three-fold surge in cyber-attacks.
“The pandemic has shifted the focus on what we deem to be critical infrastructure and our data and data systems are now clearly deemed to be critical infrastructure,” iseek founder and managing director Jason Gomersall said.
“Through our engagement with our government and enterprise customers we discovered there was a real requirement for PROTECTED Cloud in the Queensland market.
“And, more importantly, something that was hosted in Queensland.
“What is new about what we’re doing in partnership with Vault is the fact that we will host PROTECTED Cloud in Queensland — a better secure, sovereign cloud service that enables classified, critical and sensitive data to be held closer to our clients and end users across the State.
“Historically Queensland organisations have needed to source their PROTECTED Cloud services from providers hosted outside Queensland.

Everywhere we turn, we hear warnings about the security of our data, be it from attacks by foreign powers wanting to extract information from our institutions and businesses. Or by criminals looking to break into our bank accounts or personal data, sometimes using this to steal identities or to create fake online identities. Others use the darkest reaches of the internet to traffic drugs, weapons and images of children and others.
In today’s digital world, phishing attempts, data exfiltration and malware are commonplace along with targeted malicious emails and virus/worm infections.

PROTECT YOUR BUSINESS - If there is one thing that the coronavirus pandemic has driven home, it is how we have all had to adapt almost overnight to working from home and other remote locations and how dependent we are on secure networks for both business and personal needs.
As digital engagement across the country has moved up a level, or two, so are we increasingly realising the benefits and opportunities of this complex digital world. At the same time, so too have cyber threats become an ever greater personal risk.
