Our approach involves incorporating play therapy to actively interact and engage with the children.
Play serves as a valuable method to establish a solid basis for growth by employing a hands-on approach. Here are merely a few examples of the numerous abilities that children can acquire and enhance through play.
Book Recommendations for Speech Therapy:
“Where Is the Green Sheep?" - This delightful picture book by Mem Fox engages children with its repetitive and rhythmic text, encouraging language development, vocabulary expansion, and comprehension skills.
“I'm a Dirty Dinosaur" - Written by Janeen Brian and illustrated by Ann James, this interactive book invites children to join in the messy antics of a playful dinosaur. It promotes expressive language, descriptive skills, and imaginative play.
“Brian the Smelly Bear" - This charming story by Carol Ann Martin follows Brian, a bear who faces a challenge due to his unpleasant odor. It's a wonderful choice for speech therapy as it encourages vocabulary enrichment, social skills development, and empathy.
Both of these books provide engaging experiences that can facilitate speech development and encourage participation in therapy sessions.

Allanah likes to hide things in the rice, like speech sound cards, so the children can find them and practice saying them.
Using play as a tool for speech therapy is key. Your child doesn't want to feel like they're working and they want to play. Using fun ways to increase language skills will help them grow in confidence and ability in their speech😊
Doll houses are one of our absolute favourite toys to have in our waiting room, and every clinic room! They are excellent for small world and pretend play!
