recently opened the new permanent gallery Dinosaurs Unearthed: Explore Prehistoric Queensland. The exhibition features Queensland’s own dinosaurs, giant marine reptiles, and supersized megafauna. Come face to face with Queensland’s own ‘velociraptor’ Australovenator and measure up against mighty Megalania, the world’s largest lizard. This will be a winner with dinosaur enthusiasts of all ages.

we have created a super special wrapping paper with the help of the books fabulous designer Ashlea O’Neill and had it printed here in brisbane by

Ashlea has drawn images of a piece of work of each of the artists featured to make this wrap and we are accenting it with a fiery orange ribbon to complement the gorgeous cover…

we couldn’t be prouder of this book that highlights the tools, techniques, and practices of over 45 australian potters… it will be released in australia on april 26 with UK and USA to follow.

A building with such a rich history deserves its own exhibition. ​​​​​​​​​
This permanent display for conveys the timeline as a Condensed Milk Factory packing shed through to its award winning adaptive re-use to a contemporary art gallery.

It’s worth a visit to appreciate this beautiful space and location, and catch a cool exhibition while you are there.

we are back baby!

this big corporate order has straddled the last studio week of 2022 and my fabulous team completed the painting, glazing and firing of it last week, and now i’m finishing it off today to meet tomorrows deadline.

this sizeable (and custom designed) order prompted us to create a little double sided card too…

Our lovely friends are getting ready for Christmas.

today our very own pbp gift wrap was delivered. we’ll be wrapping up a storm all the way to christmas with this in the gallery. with complementary gift wrap with any purchase.

we will also have rolled sheets of it in store in packs of five or ten… it measures 47 x 67 cm

so beautifully printed by our friends at and designed in house for me there by their fab designer using my drawings from the wings of our bird ornaments over the years…

we’ve set up a special wrapping station in so if you’re in the neighbourhood the gallery is abundant with handmade wares and we’ll wrap for you too!

QAGOMA recently opened APT10 Kids featuring hands-on making and multimedia activities, artwork displays and large-scale installations.

ColourChiefs worked closely with the design team to bring artworks from Phuong Ngo and Shannon Novak to life. Both projects featured extensive colour correction, colour matching to Dulux paint colours and print testing.

Phuong Ngo's work focuses on the manufacture and use of cement tiles in Vietnam. Children can create their own tile pattern on custom printed tables using a collage sheet that can be placed in a dimensional wall holder. Shannon Novak's colourful artworks cover irregular wall shapes, windows and feature a digital flag making activity.

Take the kids they'll have hoot, the exhibition is open until 25th April 2022.

ColourChiefs seeks an experienced bindery operator to join our production team. You will either be trade qualified or possess similar experience as a bindery hand.

ColourChiefs are a unique printing company based in Windsor, Brisbane with state of the art digital printing and finishing equipment. Our equipment includes a HP Indigo, Duplo creasers / cutters, celloglazers, digital foiling and traditional bindery equipment. We match these with a digital cutting table and laser cutter. The role will include;

- Taking briefs from the Digital Print Manager and assisting with the organisation of our work flow through the bindery.
- Setting up and running bindery equipment.
- Hand finishing printed jobs.
- Carry out maintenance of bindery equipment.
- Pack finished goods for despatch.
- Maintain a neat and tidy workplace.

Experience will be advantageous in this position as often you need to be self-managed. The successful applicant will have the support of a motivated and creative team.

In the pre-COVID world of December 2019 I underwent a 6 week journey through Korea, England, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands resulting in a 9 book photojournal series. The collection explores architectural moments in time, ranging from historic icons to modern marvels. Throughout each book colours have been sampled from individual photos to frame each image. The result is a limited edition print series designed as an experience for the viewer and not a digital convenience.
