Red Frogs Australia
Red Frogs is a volunteer support network with the mission to safeguard a generation in areas of culture largely dominated by alcohol and other substances.
You'll find us at schools, Schoolies/Leavers, unis, music festivals, skate parks, and sports events! The “Red Frogs” program started in 1997 when youth worker Andy Gourley walked into a hotel room at Schoolies on the Gold Coast (Australia) carrying a bag of Red Frog lollies as an ice-breaker to connect with the young people. At the time he was simply dropping in to look after a bunch of boys that
Life doesn’t always get easier, but we can grow stronger in how we adapt and cope 🫶🏻
We know the journey can be tough, but self-care and support makes all the difference. Remember, resilience is built not just by the challenges we face, but by the care we give ourselves along the way. Stay connected, look out for one another, and never hesitate to reach out! The Froggies are always here for you ❤️
Here at Red Frogs we are passionate about supporting the next generation, combating a culture largely dominated by alcohol and substances. Which is why no matter where you find us, we’re always lending a helping hand 🫶🏻
Whether it’s safeguarding young people at Schoolies/Leavers, handing out cups of water at festivals and concerts, or educating students about partying safe, it’s all to lend a helping hand and support this next generation in whatever way we can ❤️
"After over 5 years of volunteering with Red Frogs, I still pinch myself that I get to be a part of it! It’s such a privilege to help young people and be there for them when they need it most.
Whether it’s walking schoolies home, cooking up pancakes or handing out water at festivals — I’ve learnt that it’s these seemingly small moments that make such a huge impact in their lives. And I'm so glad to be a part of it.
It’s an honour to be a Red Frog! 🐸❤️" - Grace, Red Frogs Schoolies volunteer.
We appreciate you Grace and all the amazing vollies that help us safeguard a generation 🫶🏻
On average, young people in Australia have had their first full serve of alcohol by age 15 🤯 Statistics show that teenagers who are taught how to party safe, are more likely to protect themselves and their friends. And that's what we're invested in here at Red Frogs 🙌🏼
Our high school education programs educate, equip and empower students to confidently make positive life choices and be a voice of change within their culture. It's an incredible privilege to be able to guide young people in a way that will help safeguard them against future harm ❤️

Three helpful tips to combat loneliness in our lives, and for the people around us 🫶🏻
Remember - you are not alone! And even though loneliness affects many of us, support is always within reach ❤️

It's Loneliness Awareness Week! Right now, more than 6 million Australians feel lonely. That’s 1 in 3 people 🤯
Loneliness is less about how many people you're surrounded by, and more about how connected you feel to these people. It can affect anyone, and despite how common loneliness is, 1 in 2 people are too embarrassed to talk about it due to misconceptions and stigma!
Reducing loneliness is a goal we must tackle together, and here at Red Frogs, we're committed to sharing that 🙌🏼 So start the conversation with a friend or family member on how this issue effects them today, and let's break the stigma together 🙌🏼
It may still be winter, but staying active is so important for your mental health! Physical activity not only boosts your mood but also helps you stay healthy and energised during the colder months 🫶🏻
So keep moving to lift your spirits and combat those winter blues! Whether it's a walk, hitting the gym, playing a game of tennis, or if you're really feeling it...beach volleyball is always an option 😉🏐🙌🏼
A huge shoutout to our Red Frogs New Zealand crew for an amazing Re-O Week last month! 🙌🏼
From Dunedin to Christchurch, they brought the epic Frogs energy serving up pancakes, water, and quality banter (of course) night after night! Supporting students, and safeguarding a generation. It's the Red Frogs way 🐸❤️
It's been a BIG first half of the year! Take a moment to slow down, check in with how you're feeling, and look after your mental wellbeing 🫶🏻
Maybe it's time to catchup with a friend, and have a honest chat (maybe over a game of cards!) Either way, looking after yourself is important. You've got this 🙌🏼
Life is a journey filled with changes, challenges, and growth, and it's important to remember that these experiences are what connect us all. These are normal human things! ❤️
No matter where life takes you, the Froggies are here cheering you on. You’ve got this 🐸🫶🏻

Did you know that laughter can reduce stress and improve your mood? It's amazing how something as simple as a good laugh can bring so much positivity into our lives! And here at Red Frogs, we’re all about those big grins, and spreading JOY 🐸❤️
Welcome to TERM 3! It’s halfway through the school year, and we’re excited to be going along this ride with you all! 🐸❤️
Speaking life and hope into this next generation is one of our greatest privileges, and there are still bookings for our education programs available for the rest of the year. Head to the link in our bio for more info 🙌🏼
"As a mum with a 17 year old daughter who was away from home for the first time and down at Schoolies last year, I want to say thank you for what you do. My daughter felt uncomfortable in a situation but also didn’t want to walk home by herself, and your team were there to safely walk her back to her unit. Grateful!" - Parent of Schoolie, 2023.
Thank you for sharing your Red Frog stories with us! 🥹🫶🏼
What are YOU grateful for today? 🐸❤️
Focusing on the little things that we are thankful for, increases both our sense of appreciation and helps us face life's challenges with a sense of gratitude! (And we know that is super important 😅🙌🏼)
So what are you thankful for today? Let us know in the comments! 👇🏼

“Hey, I’m Brian and I’ve been volunteering for Red Frogs at Schoolies for about 2 years now! I love being there for people when they need help, or when they want to hang out! I have also gotten really good at cooking pancakes, fun fact 🥞🎉
I love meeting and connecting with schoolies and have made heaps of good friends in my Red Frogs teams. Something about being put in team with some random people you've never met before and being stuck with them for a week really does build some strong bonds 🫶🏻
Such an awesome experience, and super keen to do it again this year!” - Brian, Red Frogs Schoolies volunteer.
Thanks for safeguarding a generation with us Brian! We couldn't do what we do, without amazing vollies like you 🐸❤️

Our Story
Red Frogs is a support program for young people ages 13-30. It all started in 1997 when youth worker Andy Gourley walked into a hotel room on the Gold Coast (Australia) carrying a bag of Allen’s Red Frog lollies. At the time he was simply dropping in to look after a bunch of boys that were in his skating group, however, the bag that was bought randomly at a local corner store has now grown to 24 tonnes of Allen’s Red Frogs and 5000 global volunteers from over 1000 networks of community and church groups.
These volunteers continue to provide vital support for young people not only in Australia but also New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom and Canada. The major goal of red frog volunteers continues to be providing peer support & positive role modelling to our future leaders, doctors, politicians whether it be at a schoolies location, university residential college, festival or high school. The Red Frogs programs aims to be a proactive approach to safeguarding young people by building fences at the top of the cliff, rather than being an ambulance at the bottom.
