Gilimbaa is a full-service creative agency specialising in strategic and connected communication.
It was deadly to work alongside Rachael Sarra Creative to create a bespoke artwork entitled 'Eternal Wisdom, Infinite Innovation' for CSIRO's Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan.
The Stretch RAP embeds reconciliation initiatives into CSIRO's core strategies, aiming for high impact outcomes and measurable targets that empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
The RAP was launched on Friday 25th October, and featured an Indigenous business market, and cultural performances and workshops, demonstrating CSIRO's commitment to fostering Indigenous entrepreneurship and cultural engagement.
It was a pleasure to attend the leadership conference of our client, Thales on Gadigal Country last week, talking all things reconciliation, leadership, and building a culture of performance, accountability, and respect.

Proud to be present at an historic moment for Queensland yesterday. The ceremonial first hearing of the state's Truth-telling and Healing Inquiry in Brisbane.
The inquiry will collect and share evidence about the impacts of colonisation, with chairperson Joshua Creamer telling NITV, "This marks an occasion for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people that our voices are being elevated and being heard," and Counsel assisting the inquiry Melia Benn adding, "Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islander people have been studied for almost 250 years ... these studies have often been conducted through one-way glass with no sound."
A deadly way to round off a spectacular Connect in Brisbane.

Happy International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples!
This year's focus is on 'Protecting the Rights of Indigenous Peoples in Voluntary Isolation and Initial Contact'. In today’s hyper-connected world, the existence of Indigenous Peoples in voluntary isolation and initial contact is a testament to the rich and complex tapestry of humanity, and it is a huge loss to our world if they cease to exist.

HAPPY Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day!
This year we stand with our children, proud of their culture, stories, kin and community – all that makes our children special, resilient and the bright leaders of our future. We hope that this year’s theme empowers our children, making them feel proud of who they are and where they come from.
Showing them that their culture is one of the most sacred, strong and important assets that they can have.
'Baraya Barray - Whale Song' by Red Room Poetry is a ground-breaking, three-year program for First Nations school children and communities, interweaving language, Country, culture and art as part of its Poetry in First Languages program.
Meaning ‘Sing Country’ in Gathang language, Baraya Barray brings attention to the origin of First Nations languages and the important lessons we can learn from our natural environment in caring for Country by celebrating saltwater songlines of the East Coast following the movements of Humpback Whales from Lutruwita to Meanjin.
We were privileged to work with Red Room Poetry on the visual identity for this project. This included logo design and style guide elements to be used on print and digital platforms, website, socials, EDMs, invites, proposal documents, poetry publications, learning resources, e-signature, and public art outcomes such as murals.

In November 2023, together with the federal Department of Health and Aged Care and our project partner Ochre Strokes, we launched a campaign to create awareness and position the positive outcomes and benefits of the free Shingrix® vaccine available for eligible First Nations people aged 50 years and older.
In conjunction with the consumer campaign, we engaged two health professionals as trusted and respected sources of advice and information for the primary target audience, to create informative and educational resource tools aimed at both health professionals and the primary target audience. We delivered a suite of material including social media videos, posters, brochures, photography, and social media tiles, as well as a community engagement program at grassroots level reaching the primary target audience where they were most likely to be receptive to its message – in medical and community centres across Queensland and New South Wales.
The desired outcome of the ongoing campaign is to increase the number of eligible people vaccinated against the virus to prevent them from contracting shingles and experiencing any of the serious complications associated with the virus.
The Carumba Institute at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) provides a world class Indigenous research and educational environment that foregrounds Indigenous sovereignty.
We were proud to work with the Carumba Institute to develop its visual identity, evolving an existing creative concept to be used across its brand identity, merchandise and social media strategy. This was based around the concept of ‘Black Knowing’ and an existing artwork by Judy Watson (image courtesy of Milani Gallery, Meanjin/Brisbane).
At the core of the Black Knowing brand is the idea of creating a space for Black knowledge without censorship. The brand represents a space where Black Knowing is valued and at the centre of knowledge production regardless of the end application.
The brand uses a redacted type treatment to represent the fight of Indigenous voices within the confines of traditional academia and refers to historical advancement of Indigenous rights.
Au revoir Boorloo Perth. Looking forward to the historic first direct flight between France and Australia. Bonjour Paris!
