Jazz Singers' Jam Night ~ 5th September 2024
We effectively had a quartet supporting our singers this month: the Wil Sargisson Trio +1. The trio included Col Atkinson on bass and Paul Hudson on the kit. Col also sang two numbers, and was one of four male voices on the programme. We also had a guest multi-instrumentalist in Mark Pradella who contributed on almost every number on one thing or another: alto, tenor, clarinet, shakers and triangle; he even played tenor and shakers at the same time!
The vocalists also included Michael Barber, Jan Lennard, Lisa Angel, Angus Beeney, Wendy Lockyear, Naomi Doessel, Melanie Jansen, Pete Vance, Cathy Quinn, Srishti Chhaya and Di Clark. Naomi acted as MC for the evening and Ingrid will return as host for our next jam night on Thursday 3rd October with the Dave Spicer Trio.
This is a sample of photos from the night featuring one of everyone and full photo set for this night, and for the past dozen years are available on the JSJN Page: https://www.facebook.com/jazzsingersjamnight/

Jazz Singers' Jam Night ~ 1st August 2024
This month’s Jam Night featured the classic jazz-piano trio of John Reeves with Samuel Vincent and Dom Machen. We had 11 solo singers and two vocal groups: the Musaeus Contemporary Vocal Ensemble directed by Sean Andrews and Vocal Improv “MSU” with four of our more adventurous singers ‘Making Stuff Up’!
The running order looked like this: Tina Maree, Di Clark, Emilie Milne, Naomi Doessel, Aleisha Stevens, Musaeus Vocal Ensemble, Ingrid James mc, Caro Manins, Merryn Holder, Abbey Guilfoyle, Steph Taylor, Pearly Black, and Vocal Improv “MSU”.

You might notice that we have more photos than usual this month and we welcome the very energetic Brennan Finighan to the group, and Brennan contributed practically the entire selection this month. Next month’s Jam Night will be on Thursday 5th September, of course, and it features the Wil Sargisson trio. Ingrid will be in London for her CD Launch, so best wishes for that; and Naomi has another four Thursdays to fine-tune her hilarious comedy routines.
The full photo set of 58 images for this night, and for the past dozen years are available on the JSJN Page: https://www.facebook.com/jazzsingersjamnight/
