Smooth/short and long hair miniature dachshunds; 4kg - 5kg; Black, Chocolate, Cream, Dapple I also have other miniature dachshunds that are family pets.
My breeding program currently has 2 x female miniature dachshunds weighing 4kg and 5kg. All my adult dachshunds are fully DNA tested prior to entering my breeding program. I reside on a property, where my dachshunds live inside my home, and are free to come and go in order to run and play outdoors. And herein lies the problem. Female's come on heat, owner decides she wants to breed her for a litter of pups. There would have been no research done, nor any DNA testing what-so-ever. No clue what she's doing, she just thinks she can throw a male in there and that's it! 😡
So at the end of the day, it's the dogs that suffer 😪
Please DO NOT adopt a puppy from anyone like this. Remember, you get what you pay for!
Ethical and responsible breeders have done their homework, they've researched their breed for years, done full health tests, full DNA profiles, and they know exactly what they're doing and what to expect in producing a litter of pups. They're dedicated to breeding for temperament and conformation, for pups that will live a long and healthy life with their forever families.
Please please please always use platform's such as RightPaw or Dogz Online when looking to add a dachy puppy to your family. These breeders have undergone extensive checks and supplied a multitude of required documenataion and information, in order to be accepted as ethical and responsible breeders to advertise their litters 🐶🐾💞

If you breed dachshunds of any variety, it’s vitally important that you know the breed standard.
Every pedigreed dog breed is governed by a breed standard, and even if you never plan on competing in dog shows, you need to be sure that you are breeding dogs that are as close to the approved breed standard as possible.
The extended version of the Dachshund breed standard that we follow in Australia is attached. Please read it and keep
It on record somewhere and refer to it.
If you are not a breeder but plan on buying a dachshund puppy at some time in the future, then ask the breeder you are looking at buying from, whether they follow or even know of, the dachshund breed standard.

It is with an extremely heavy heart that, due to my illness, I MUST URGENTLY REHOME Harley, my 3 year old desexed black & tan dapple male.
Ideally, I'd like to find a forever home:
🐶 that is with a single, middle aged female who doesn’t work away from the home, and is home most of the time
🐶 that is a knowledgeable dachshund home, where the breed is understood and well known
🐶 where he will be an integral part of the family (NO CHILDREN), as he is used to
🐶 where he will live inside the home, with free access to a secure backyard, as he is used to
🐶 where he will sleep on/in the beds with you, as he is used to
🐶 where he will be loved and adored for the remainder of his life, as he has been by me
Harley (25/04/2021) joined our family at 9 weeks of age, however for the majority of his life, he's only had me, his female owner. Unfortunately, he was exposed to an extremely volatile environment from 5 months of age (until just prior to his 1st birthday), and now shows fear aggression towards strangers who approach him too quickly, particularly men. This has made Harley very protective of, and loyal to his one person. Harley needs someone with breed knowledge, understanding, and patience. While initially reserved, he transforms into an affectionate companion once he warms up in his surroundings. Harley possesses a serene soul, and has a penchant for cuddles and exploration. He doesn’t really bark at all; he loves to snuggle cuddle, laying on your lap and touching you to snooze; and he also loves to sleep on/in the big bed with you at night. He is NOT used to children at all, nor has he associated with cats, therefore homes with either of these would not be suitable for Harley. I'm ideally looking to rehome him preferably with a single middle aged female who is home most of the time, and able to take Harley on daily walks for exercise. He is a submissive, so would be fine with another dachshund for company, and has already been tested in that situation.
Harley recently had an away from home vacation with a dachshund rescue carer, who gave the following report:
Harley is a desexed male with a gentle demeanor. Whilst initially reserved, he transforms into an affectionate companion once he warms to his new surroundings. Harley possesses a serene soul and has a penchant for cuddles and exploration. To establish a connection with Harley, it is advisable to initially ignore him, avoid sudden movements, and allow him to initiate contact with you. Within 24 hours, Harley tends to seek the comfort of sitting on laps and requesting affection. He has demonstrated a lack of aggression towards unfamiliar dachshunds, suggesting compatibility with another dachshund companion is possible. Harley exhibits no sign of separation anxiety and remains relatively quiet, although displays enthusiasm upon my return home.
In a home environment with a single female and another dachshund, Harley maintained a calm demeanor, however did display his fear aggression when an unfamiliar individual entered the property. He didn’t issue a warning growl, and lunged at the ‘intruder’, which could result in nipping/biting, therefore training may be required to address this behaviour. In the meantime, it is advisable to keep Harley restrained when new people enter the property, and instruct newcomers to avoid all eye contact and ignore him initially, thus allowing him to approach them once he has calmed down. Considering Harley’s characteristics, placing him in a mature, calm, and quiet household is recommended, preferably with a single middle aged woman, without children who introduce unpredictability to his environment, and with someone who is committed to his ongoing training, walks, and socialisation.

You are a shy, gentle, friendly little cherub, who may take a while to come out of your shell around most people, but when you do, you love to play freely and enjoy life. Chilli Babes Dachshunds - our story
Breeder of short haired Miniature Dachshunds, various colours, size ranging from 4kg full adult weight (under 5kg true miniatures as per ANKC guidelines) through to 6kg full adult weight.
Chilli is a miniature smooth short haired black & tan dachshund born 12/02/2016. She is quite petite and comes from true miniature purebred dachshund lines. Her adult weight is a mere 4.5kg. Her tan mother weighs approx. 4kg and her chocolate & tan father weighs just under 5kg. Chilli is very gentle, quiet natured, timid with strangers (both skin and fur), intelligent, extremely well behaved, and was just so darn easy to train! We actually believe she's an old soul who's been on this earth in another life, as she has definitely done all this before! She has a need to know about everything going on around her, so tends to follow you around everywhere you go. She also perches herself on the top of the lounge, which gives her prime position to survey the entire living area of the house and watch everything that’s happening! Chilli enjoys being outside in the sun, running around in her large backyard or at the beach with her fur siblings; swimming in the family pool or in the calm waters around the Gold Coast; and lazy Sunday brunches at her favourite spot, the Coffee Club, where she partakes of her very own special puppychino!
Lucy is a smooth short haired red (ee cream) dachshund born 23/02/2018. She weighs 6kg and is what’s known as a “tweenie”. Lucy’s black & tan mother weighs 5kg and her red (ee cream) father weighs 7kg. Lucy is an extremely gentle, quiet natured girl who is very loving and very snuggly/cuddly with people she knows (which doesn’t take long!). She has a bit of a tomboy streak about her at times, and enjoys playing little games with you. She also enjoys her quiet times, in solitude just lazing about in the sun, doing what Lucy wants to do. She is great with strangers (both skin and fur), intelligent, and extremely well behaved. Lucy enjoys being outside in the sun, running around in her large backyard or at the beach with her fur siblings; she loves the water, be it in the family pool, being sprayed by the hose, or swimming in the calm waters around the Gold Coast; she also enjoys lazy Sunday brunches at the Coffee Club, where she partakes of her very own special puppychino too!
Molly is a smooth short haired red (choc) dachshund born 27/09/2018. She is one of Chilli’s puppies. Molly weighs 4.2kg, so is even smaller than her petite black & tan mother Chilli who weighs 4.5kg and her smooth short haired red (choc) father who weighs 4.9kg. She is extremely timid and very very shy around strangers (skin), however she loves being with other fur kids that are not a part of her immediate family. She thoroughly enjoys laptime as she loves to snuggle into you, and can often be found asleep in the most unusual places, like on top of the laundry pile, under a blanket or towel left lying around, or with her face buried in the lounge chair! Molly enjoys being outside in the sun, running around in her large backyard or at the beach with her fur siblings, and can be a little mischievious at times ; she is a water baby and tends to dive into the family pool whether you’re ready for her or not; she loves going out in the car on new adventures; and like her fursisters, she also enjoys her very own special puppychino during our lazy Sunday brunches at the Coffee Club!
We are not ANKC registered breeders, therefore our girls and their litters are also not ANKC registered. We are a registered breeder with our local Gold Coast City Council, and abide by their Breeders Code of Conduct, which can be sighted on the website. We also hold a Qld Government Supply Number (BIN = Breeders Identification Number), as required by law for any person who is selling, advertising or giving away a dog. Even though we are not associated or registered with any ANKC State Body, we do abide by their breeding rules and regulations. Our main priority is for the welfare of all our puppies, big and small. Our girls have been raised inside our family home, where they live, eat, sleep, play, and are able to come and go (inside/outside) as they please. They have a very large secure backyard where they play, laze in the sun, and enjoy time together running around with each other. Our girls are not just family pets, they are family members, and are treated just like any other family member in our home. All puppies are treated the same; they are born and raised in our family home, they are handled by our immediate family members from a very young age, they are showered with hugs and kisses whilst being given lots of love, and they are very well socialised in preparation for their adoption to their forever families. We will only allow our puppies to be adopted into loving forever homes, where they will live inside your family home, be an important member of your loving family, and where they will be free to come and go (secure yard) as they please. The cost of each puppy is individually quoted, as each one is unique in their own right. Once your Application for Adoption is approved, a non-refundable deposit is required immediately to secure the puppy of your choice. Until your deposit is paid in full, your puppy is available for adoption by another suitable applicant.
