Just want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone for their kind words of support on my last post🫶🏽 It’s always daunting putting yourself out there, leaving yourself vulnerable but I always knew I’d share it despite any fears around it.

I think it’s important for women to see what normal bodies look like, what hurdles women can face within their hormone health and know you are not alone. This is the second time in a decade, going through something like this and I never once gave up on seeking answers nor on my body. I have advocated for my health always.

I knew I’d come out the other side healed, happy and healthy and I continue to support with my own clients, relating to them through personal experience 🥰😚✨

My biggest take away from the last 18months is you can only sit in survival fight or flight for so long before your body will find ways to tell you, you’re not doing ok🥺

For the last 12 months I’ve been working alongside my industry peer and good friend .functionalhealth to balance out my hormones after discovering my body was not producing any oestrogen.

After discovering the root cause of it we realised that STRESS was the biggest factor and I had been dealing with it a substantial amount of stress months before I reached out to Sammie for help🙃

For anyone that may be similar to myself, who ‘handles’ stress with ease on the outside, I urge you to reconsider your daily habits and how you decompress from challenging experiences. For me it manifested in other ways. While I was feeling fine on the outside, my poor body was suffering in the inside. Giving me warnings that I didn’t pick up on ❤️‍🩹

12 months of adapting my training, introducing appropriate, yet minimal supplementation, nourishing correctly, a WHOLE LOTTA self love to soothe my central nervous system from the inside out and PATIENCE. SO MUCH patience 🫠

But finally my inner world finally feels good🍃✨🧘🏽‍♀️ I went from mood swings, tears, fluid retention, painful bloating, low s*x drive, poor quality sleep, low appetite and lethargy to ➡️ balanced mental health state, next to no bloating, improved appetite, sustainable energy and quality sleep.

For anyone who’s been around for a while you’ll know this isn’t my first rodeo on this path but I’m proud of this girl 👆🏽 both of them. The patience and resilience I had for my body to allow it time to respond and recover.

Just want to be transparent and let you know if you’re in a tough spot and really going through it, the best thing you can do is really FEEL it all. Go RIGHT THROUGH IT and don’t just stay in survival mode 🕊️

It’s been a loooooooooong journey balancing my hormones (more on that another day) but good gosh it’s nice to feel progress happening within 💞 Still working on it - and it may be an ongoing task, but after 18 months I’m finally coming up for air and recognising myself again 🫶🏽💫
