It’s with a heavy heart and a tear in our eye that we announce that Bluegrass at New Farm will close its doors for the last time this Sunday, 3/9.
After much deliberation, the shopping centre’s management has decided that it’s in the best interest of the centre to add our space to the vacant one next door and change the use of that precinct to retail. They are therefore unable to offer us a new lease.
We wish the new retailer in our space and the centre management all the best for the future.
While it has clearly been a difficult decision for them, we, and our staff, are left reeling from this news.
We’re going to take a little time to get things in order and regroup, with an aim to come back better and stronger near you in the near future.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you, our loyal customers, fans and friends, for all your support over the years.
It’s been a blast. We learned a lot, had our triumphs and tribulations, and have loved every minute of it.
To have you along with us has quite literally meant the world.
For those of you with reservations through the rest of the year and up to Super Bowl next year - we'll be contacting you shortly to offer our apologies.
In the meantime, we're open all this weekend and would love to see all of you for one last round of brisket, ‘burgs & beers.
Bluegrass BBQ is still open and smoking just up at Albion and Eatons Hill to satiate all your BBQ needs.

Our Story
Founded in New Farm, QLD, the Smoke BBQ was Brisbanes first BBQ Restaurant, and has been offering in-house smoked American BBQ fare to its guests since 2006.
The Smoke BBQ steadily gained a loyal following with the locals of New Farm and many others looking for classic American cuisine. Buffalo chicken wings, Texas Beef Ribs and Kansas City Baby Back Ribs are still the main staples of the menu and offer new tastes for many Australians who have never sampled the flavours of old fashioned smoked BBQ. With a smoker imported from the U.S. to ensure authenticity, Brisbane finally has a BBQ joint.
W e’ve added some new menu items along the way, new favourites like Cajun Chicken Cee-gars and Beef Brisket, just to name a couple. After more than 11 years serving the New Farm area, The Smoke BBQ is proud of it’s new history here in Australia and looking forward to many more years serving our guests.
