Australian by birth, Vietnamese by heritage. Recognising one’s cultural heritage has been, and still is a journey. For as long as i could remember, food and restaurants is life. Growing up in my family restaurant, where my dad was Head Chef, i breathed the restaurant atmosphere since I was 9 years old in Gladstone– the customers, the cooks, the food. This coming March I get to showcase my passion and heritage , come along and sample the best of Brisbane’s gourmet food scene within an immersive outdoor neon-noir environment

How the immigrant experience shapes what I’ll teach my children. I am a first-generation immigrant. My childhood gave me a perspective that has been my greatest strength in all areas of my life. My parents achieved the Australian Dream, but witnessing that journey was my becoming. Some rare photos of my upbringing.

Vietamese New Year is the most important festival of the year, celebrating love, the start of spring, and the best of hopes for the new year. Vietnamese new year is all about tradition, family and food; wish wishes of health and prosperity and days of feasting on traditional family favourites. To celebrate and bring in the new year, we would like to invite our ngon family to join us for a week of feasting. We will be doing traditional skewers on coal such as Bo La lot (beef with Betal leaf), nem nuong (grilled pork sausage) corn with scallion oil and squid with green chilli sauce.
