Rivermakers Markets
Rivermakers Markets Postponed Until 2025. Stay tuned for updates on our social!
Important Market Update:
We’ve made the difficult decision to postpone future Rivermakers Markets until 2025.
This pause comes as we clarify the statutory approvals in response to a single complaint by a neighbouring business.
When the Rivermakers Markets were launched, our shared vision was to create an iconic space that would alleviate the current cost of living pressure, bring family, friends and neighbours together, and provide a platform for local farmers, makers, bakers and growers to thrive. All set along the picturesque Brisbane River in the stunning Rivermakers Precinct.
While we’ve arrived here due to this complaint, it’s important we note the market and neighbouring business are not mutually exclusive. They most certainly can coexist. This was evident in the second week of trade following the popular opening day, and we look forward to demonstrating this upon the market’s return.
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us, alongside the hundreds of vendors, sole traders and small family businesses that make up the Rivermakers markets. The local community, amazing traders, Rivermakers family and team, remain the driving force and soul behind this very special activation.
For now, our priority remains removing any future uncertainty and resuming trade as we started – as an iconic family focused farmers market.
We believe that this decision, while disappointing, is in good faith and will ensure the markets return in early 2025.
Thank you to everyone who's supported the market over the past few months! Stay tuned to our social media for updates and details.

Grown in their luscious red soil, the family switched to organic over conventional in 1998 when Bonnie's father questioned just what all this pesticide was doing to his crop...and his health!

Last month, we launched what is one of Queensland’s most vibrant, premium and genuine farmers and artisan markets. Due to a neighbour’s complaint, we’ve needed to move the markets to a monthly format (every 3rd Sunday of each month). While this change has certainly been unfortunate and not what we planned, we’ve used this time to further improve aspects of the markets, especially related to traffic and ease of arrival/departure.
Therefore, after a month of planning and tremendous support from locals, visitors and vendors, we are VERY excited to be hosting our 2nd market day on Sunday, 18th August, 7am – 1pm, continuing on the 3rd Sunday of each month- until we resume weekly trade.
We’re dedicated to bringing you the same sensational stalls and authentic atmosphere, featuring the freshest farm-direct produce from SE QLD and Northern NSW. Expect to find artisan bakers, fishmongers, butchers, baristas, chefs, beekeepers, florists, artists, and designers—all coming back to Morningside.
Rivermakers Farmers and Artisan Market will feature over 150 unique stalls, offering the finest handcrafted artisan goods, freshest farm direct produce and gourmet foodie vendors from across SEQLD.
Plus, live music and kids’ entertainment with over 450 free car parks, free entry, and much, much more!
Make sure you click ‘going’ to our event Rivermakers Markets Sunday, 18th August and experience firsthand the magic of Rivermakers Markets.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us on the opening day! Your support and feedback for the new Rivermakers Markets has been simply incredible.
It's fair to say we're overwhelmed by the community's response and genuine desire to have our very own, very unique, and very REAL market in Morningside. Our team and vendors loved meeting many of you for the first time on the 21st of July. We're working hard to ensure this special Sunday destination becomes part of the community fabric for years to come...
You may have seen or heard that we've moved to a monthly format. We wanted to provide you with a little update. *pause to grab spectacles*
We've been made aware of a complaint by a neighbouring business regarding the zoning and a dispute around uses that are not classified as "heavy industrial."
Council isn't to blame. They're doing their job regarding zoning and the correct uses in place. As is the neighbouring business, which needs certainty that its operation isn't going to be adversely impacted by non-industrial uses... like a farmers market!
Brisbane is now Australia's fastest growing city. Morningside and surrounds have already become such an incredible place to reside. Destinations like the Rivermakers Markets can coexist with the existing uses in place, adding to the robust and vibrant neighbourhood plan our city is aiming to deliver.
More examples like this will become evident as our amazing city continues to grow. And now, we believe this location represents a remarkable site for a truly special community market each Sunday....for 6 hours!
Your feedback regarding traffic congestion on our opening day has been heard! We've put a huge number of measures in place, including a traffic management plan from Lytton Rd through Colmslie, super friendly traffic controllers and parking assistants, along with an extra 350 car parks (standby for our 'how to find' video soon).
We're hoping a positive outcome will be reached while we continue to work with the council, state government and surrounding stakeholders.
We truly appreciate each and every one of your comments, feedback and support! We’ll keep everyone updated in the meantime.
We’re so thankful for your tremendous support of the new Rivermakers Markets on Sunday. To us, it was more than a Sunday farmers' market; it was a remarkable celebration of our amazing local community, small businesses, growers, makers, bakers, and creators. 🌟
Thank you to everyone who supported us, to everyone for providing your wonderful and helpful feedback and to the hundreds of positive comments and messages that we received.
From this Sunday, we’ve seen firsthand how much our local community has embraced our special riverside market location, highlighting the area's genuine desire for a regular farmers' market ❤️
For now, it's with a heavy heart we inform everyone that we must shift our farmers and artisan market to a monthly schedule until further notice.
Rest assured, we are working tirelessly to improve the market experience for everyone. Your support means the world to us, and we remain committed to delivering a premium and genuine farmers' market on the THIRD Sunday of each month. 🌿🥕🌼
Therefore, our next market date will be Sunday, 18th August.
We will ensure any and all market updates are provided as soon as we receive them. - please encourage others to follow us and stay up to date!
Again, thank you so much for all your support.
Hey everyone,
Thank you so much for your incredible support today ! On behalf of the entire market and Rivermakers we’re simply blown away by everyone attending the grand opening this morning. Thank you!!
Can we please note, we’ve just been notified of council inspectors fining cars parked along yellow lines on Colmslie Rd.
If you’re driving please head toward the new parking area at the end of Dunhill Crescent.
We strongly recommend ride sharing or alternatives to parking onsite due the number of attendees for our for very first our first day.
Thank you again.

Picture this, it's 5.30pm Thursday, you're late night shopping. The ambient lighting at Westfield doesn't distract you long enough to pick up the last bunch of broccoli on special. You think to yourself "how long has this been here for?" ... or "where did this come from?" ... Probably not right! I mean, we wouldn't blame you.
BUT - what if for that one occasion you did ask, or you do want to find out!??
Well, we think it's THYME to introduce Theresa and her gorgeous family from Valley Pride Produce, hailing from the little town of Charlwood!
Theresa's family are 5th (yep, 5th) generation farmers specialising in unique varieties you just won't find in any major supermarket. Why? Because she grows them exclusively for her customers at Farmers markets of course (we're pretty lucky!)
Think stunning Rainbow Dutch, Purple Dutch, and Paris Dutch carrots (plus good ol orange if that's your vibe), Gold Beetroot (YUM) Target Beetroot and stunning rainbow chard, silverbeet and so much more.
To reduce food waste, any of the *super ugly food is turned into jam, pesto, chutney, and even cake! Ensuring minimal impact on the environment
Theresa's ONE IN A MELON 🍈🍈Catch her and heaps more THIS Sunday at the Rivermakers Farmers & Artisan Markets opening!
We've popped out to say a big hello to Andrew and grab a few snaps of this GORGEOUS orchard in Stanthorpe while learning LOTS about all the apple varieties that will be on show THIS Sunday for the Rivermakers Markets opening!! 🍎🍏
What can we say... there's not a single thing Andrew doesn't know about apples (his favorite is 'Envy') . All of his apples are unwaxed and bought directly from the farm to market each weekend...
Expect to find Gala, Pink Lady, Granny Smith (of course!) , Envy, Kanzi, and Kalei...
HELLOOOOO Grannies apple pie.....🥧
If this guy can make it out of bed... you can too! 🐓🐓🐓
This time next week we'll have over 150 of South East Queensland's best artisan vendors, growers, makers, bakers, even bespoke knife sharpeners...just to name a few.
