The Respect Competition is part of the Stop it at the Start campaign and encourages young people to think about respect and what it means to them.
Students in years 4-9 across Australia are encouraged to create a storyboard about what respect looks like in their world.
The winner will have their storyboard turned into a 30 second animation by a professional animator and will receive a $500 gift card for themselves and one for their school.

Today is National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day – a day where we come together to celebrate the strengths and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
This year’s theme is, ‘Strong in Culture, Stronger Together’.
Every day at Act for Kids, we’re working together to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children can thrive, be strong in culture and connected to kin and community.

This week we celebrated the first anniversary of the Act for Kids Moreton Centre's opening, a testament to strong community collaboration supporting children and families in the Moreton-Caboolture region. ❤️🙌

Brisbane Assessment and Service Connect (ASC) team recently took a road trip to Cherbourg and visited the Ration Shed.
The Ration Shed Museum, located in the Cherbourg Historical, Cultural and Community Precinct allows visitors to see and experience the past and present of a largest Aboriginal community in South East Queensland.
The Act for Kids team found it to be a very thought provoking and moving experience.

The Fourth Annual Individual Support Services State Leadership Conference was recently held in the Moreton Bay area.
The team brainstormed ways of refining procedure and elevating practice, but also had a focus on feedback, business and bettering the way we show our funders that we are ‘trauma-competent’. It was great to hear the voices of our leaders across the state!
Most importantly, it was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with the stalwarts and connect with some new faces. 🙌

Act for Kids is an Australian charity providing free therapy and support services to children and families who have experienced, or are at risk of child abuse and neglect. We have helped thousands of children and families for over 30 years. Act for Kids operates 26 centres with a team of over 350 staff from Adelaide all the way up to the Cape York Peninsula. Our services have expanded to include integrated therapy, support for vulnerable families, special workshops to empower kids and safe houses in remote Aboriginal communities.
