It’s the end of June, which means it’s time for what’s been happening across Help!
1. We were thrilled to share Jasmyne’s one year work anniversary at QBD Books (which just so happens to be her favourite bookstore)! Our team were able to support Jasmyne into this role and we hear she’s developed so much confidence over the past twelve months. Well done, Jasmyne! 🚀
2. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to visit us at the Gold Coast Disability Expo! 🤗
3. We were delighted to invite Support Coordinators to Sunnybank for a cuppa, a chat and a tour of the hub and commercial site. Thanks to everyone who got involved! ☕
4. It was great to celebrate National Donut Day with our Boronia Brew Crew member Kevin. He jumped at the chance to work in hospitality when we launched our social enterprise cafe, and is now making 60 donuts a day! 🍩
5. Despite the cold weather, Darren from our Eagle Farm site is hard at work keeping our local garden thriving. Darren has planted so many different herbs and veggies and offers it to others when ready for harvest. 🌱
6. Our Disability Employment team recently supported Matthew to help him build confidence and skills that helped him secure a job at Pallet Masters – great work! 🎯

Our Family Catch Up at Help's Ipswich Commercial site was a blast! Our Supported Employees got to show off their amazing work at Help to their families, while having a fun-filled day with teammates and loved ones.

SLES is a school transition support funded by the NDIS to help young people develop skills and explore their career pathways.

• Logistics solutions, including quality control, packaging, order processing, inventory management, and distribution.

What happens at Help's five SEQ Hubs?

🎨 Arts & Crafts – it is the perfect opportunity to learn to sew, hone your photography skills or paint your very own masterpiece – all you need to bring is your imagination.
🔢 Literacy and Numeracy – at this class, you will learn the key principles of literacy and numeracy including reading, writing, communication, adding, subtracting, multiplying and division.
💻 Computer Skills – learn to navigate the internet, manage emails, and how to use search engines and programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
🎯 Independent Life Skills – grow your independence and prepare for things like moving out of home, building work skills and learning how to handle and manage your money.
Activities are designed to help you achieve your NDIS goals and are open to people of all ages and abilities.
If you’re feeling a bit nervous about trying something new, our support workers will be there with you every step of the way.
