DLE what is it??

Discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE) is the most common type of cutaneous (skin) lupus in dogs. When dogs develop DLE, it causes them to develop crusting and scabbing of the skin, and hair loss, usually starting around the nose.

My mum has also started giving me chicken liver, one a day in my meal.

Liver is part of a balanced whole food diet for
dogs. It should be fed raw and not exceed 10%
of the overall diet. It could be fed once a week
for instance or a little each day. Liver is a source
of Vitamins A, B, B1, B12 and K, trace elements
Choline, Manganese, Molybdenum, Selenium,
Cobalt and amino acid Cysteine.

These chicken livers are a cheap benefit to your dog's health. I bag them up and freeze them.

What should I feed my dog with lupus?
An anti-inflammatory diet that
is grain-free may be of benefit
to dogs suffering from lupus.
Supplements, including Vitamin
E, Omega 3 and 6, and fish oils
have also been found to have some positive affects.

This is something that is added each day to my food.

Turmeric is a powerful spice with many health benefits for dogs. Adding turmeric to your dog's diet can help reduce inflammation, improve digestion, prevent cancer, improve cognitive function, and promote healthy skin and coat.

Ingredients
3 cups of turmeric powder
(sourced through our co-op)
6 cups of water
2 cups of organic coconut oil (or
1 cup of coconut oil and 1 cup of
bone broth)
3 tablespoons of freshly ground
black pepper
2 tablespoons of
Ceylon cinnamon

Step 1: slowly warm the water on
the lowest heat while I ground the
needed pepper.
Step 2: mix the turmeric powder
with the water and stir until it
thickens.
Step 3: mix in the coconut oil and
bone broth, and, finally, the
pepper. I turn off the heat and
continue to stir.
Step 4: allow the turmeric paste to
cool and transfer it into glass
containers to freeze

Ultimately, you want to do 1/4
teaspoon for every 10 pounds of
body weight.
Start by adding 1/4 - 1/2
teaspoon of golden paste to
each meal.
Every 5-7 days, increase the
dosage by a small amount
You've found your maintenance
dosage once you notice pain
relief

A treat I get that is also healthy and good for me.

Carrots are rich in Vitamin A, providing a host of nutritional benefits to your dog. Beyond supporting eye health, it also assists in supporting a thriving immune system and healthy skin and coat.

Apples are an excellent source of vitamins A and C, as well as fiber for your dog. They are low in protein and fat, making them the perfect snack for senior dogs. Just be sure to remove the seeds and core first.

1. Chop up apple and Carrots
2. Blend with a little water
3. Scoop into ice block mould or into whatever you would like.
4. Freeze
5. Add to a meal each day or as a treat.

Environmental factors such as ultraviolet light and cigarette smoke trigger or worsen DLE. Stress may also worsen lupus. Some dog breeds are more prone to getting the disease. They include German Shepherds, Brittanys, Alaskan Malamutes, Siberian husky, Chow Chows, and Shetland sheepdogs.
