Wide Open Road Byron is serving delicious food and coffee ethically sourced and roasted by us.
Wide Open Road is about a lot of things but since day one the music has played an essential role in defining who we are and how we go about the things we do. It’s great to be able to finally celebrate this by not just selling vinyl but also creating a space that is enjoyable to listen to music. A space where we are surrounded by the things that are most fun in this world, music, surfing, coffee, food, books and people.
Introducing our Gravlax plate. House cured Salmon with tarragon, whipped ricotta, capers, caper-berries, rye & soft egg. Available all day in old Byron Bay. .
It’s that time of the year. We’re looking for a legendary Barista who’s loves working with great coffee and people. 4-5 shifts available, specialty coffee experience essential. Please email [email protected] with your cv or drop it off in-store.
We have stepped our food game up another notch and are looking for a chef to lead our small kitchen team. Our new food manifesto is all about fresh, local, seasonal produce, presented honestly and simply, with lots of rotation and a Mediterranean bent. If you are passionate about food and ready to take the lead, we’re keen to hear from you. Email cv and cover letter to [email protected]
Our new Spring menu is rolling out. With a focus on seasonal fresh produce, simple presentation and an evolving specials approach we think it’s a nice match to take us into the new season. We hope you do too.
It’s time to celebrate our 4th Birthday! Join us this Friday afternoon from 4-6pm at Wide Open Road. Enjoy a drink, some tasty morsels, and an acoustic solo performance by Magic Bean Guillotine.
The washed process is all about clarity. By soaking, rinsing, and drying the beans after they’re picked, we strip away anything that could cloud the coffees natural flavours. The result? A clean, bright cup that lets the true character of the beans shine. Taste the difference with our two current washed singles, the Mexican La Union and our Rwandan Sovu.
Yes, we have books too. Over the coming weeks, leading up to spring we are bringing in more things for your en-joy-meant.
One bag of Yoshimi left before our restock middle of next week. Filter blend- passion fruit, apricot delight, hibiscus. Delicious in a pour over or as your batch brew.
We have so many remarkable coffees on the retail shelf at the moment, but they don’t last long. It’s only ever 4-6 weeks before we release new coffees.

Each choice we make, each fork in the road, further defines our intention, and although it is often hidden in the work we do, intention adds energy and feeling.
There’s nowhere to go but everywhere.
We’re choosing what’s fun and embracing change, along with the inevitable tension it creates. After all there’s no story without change. We’re back to our roots while simultaneously living out the dreams and the spirit of what we’ve been trying to build for so many years.
We’ve been on a quiet journey for the past 15 years here at Wide Open Road. Over the last year and a half, we’ve been focused intensely on rebuilding from the inside out, with a laser-like dedication to elevating the coffee ritual. We’ve fine-tuned everything-from our team to our sourcing, roasting and hospitality. Now we’re ready to unveil our complete rebrand - one that truly captures who we are and where we’re headed. We’re tuning into what’s important, what inspires us and what makes us feel alive. It’s a new day, and we’re glad you’ve found us.
Stoked to finally get some boards in the rack. They’re stunning! It’s all starting to make sense.
